It had some nonsense in the script (mainly some dialogue, but that "You have no soul!" and "That is why I have no fear!" exchange was really cool.) and the ending was a bit too long like usual, but it's my 2nd favorite of the live-action films, the 1st being the 1st film. Lockdown and the Dinobots added extra points to the film too.

Repeating an opinion in no way explains or justifies it, it merely repeats in.

And perhaps betrays an inability to justify or explain it.

And I laughed too...because I enjoyed it and thought it was a cool escalation of the tension, not to mention an awesome comeback, and therefore enjoyed it.

That's why I said technically. Lockdown is never really "with" the Decepticons in any incarnation but every toy of him? Sold as one.

(Look to the little icon to the left of the name)

I mean, it's just how Hasbro works - every evil transforming robot in the franchise, if not categorized into a completely separate faction, are by default considered Decepticons.

They had to give him a logo for the toy line. Just like Galvatron and Stinger lol. No Cons at all in AOE, which I thought was real BS. But now if hey had no Cons in the movies line, people would be pissed and it might even have given plot points away about the movie when toys started leaking before the movie. I'm sure if all the bad guys' toys got leaked before the movie with no Con emblems on them. There would have been a major panic and or someone would have put 2 and 2 together and figured out there was no real Cons in the movie lol.

But if there were no Decepticons, why was the TF4 logo using part of it?

The movie is pretty decent and that's not saying much. I cincur with most the complaints posted. The one that really put me off was how Galvatron and that red bumblebee (stinger?) transformed...it smacked of laziness for me.

And yeah, the robots looked too organic for my liking and as a result, translating them into toy form was no doubt a challenge. That's one of the main reasons I lost interest in the movie line and the down-sizing of the toy sizes.

For the same reason movie 5 had the Con logo on the flag with a V for 5. Promotion lol. Ok, let's say there were Cons in TF4, did you see any of them with the Con emblem on them? And more so, did we EVER see the NEW style Con logo on any TFs in that movie? Nope, was just created for promotional use as it would get quite boring if they used the same logos every movie right?

I too was excited for TF4 because I thought a new look Con force was coming and they would have the new Con emblem as you showed here. I liked the new slimed side chin area on the emblem. And it was never used in the film at all. Just like someone says this new logo with the Con symbol and V through the face was supposedly seen at An Air Base in New Mexico. Which I still think is BS and we will not see this logo/emblem whatever you want to call it, in this new movie. Barricade and his crew are even sporting the classic emblem.

While I do think Tonyformer has a large part of it down, once I saw the film I saw the logo as meaning the Decepticon leader was still manipulating things under the guise of being a lifeless decapitated head and drone. Like yeah, there may be very few Decepticons left on Earth, but they will never be destroyed completely. Megatron/Galvatron is still responsible for lots of the film's events and circumstances. Granted, that's just how I see the logo.

‘Transformers 4′ Character Images Reveal Dinobots; Michael Bay Talks New Trilogy

Please, tell me how an official source is lying about Galvatron, Decepticon Stinger, and Lockdown are not clearly using a 'theme' background with the Decepticon logo on it.

Or how literally every single Stinger toy and branded product (with the sole exclusion of the Funko repaint of Bumblebee's POP) is specifically DECEPTICON Stinger? That's literally his trademarked name.

That wasn't the Decepticon logo being reinvented to be plastered everywhere. It was, as you say, purely promotional but the presence of the Decepticon logo would imply there are Decepticons, right?

I mean, it's not like a bait and switch promise now, is it?

It's a lot less confusing to think of it like this...

Galvatron is literally "Megatron reincarnated," straight from the mouth of the guy who helped do the dirty work himself.

So Galvatron is MOST DEFINITELY a Decepticon.

Galvatron also gave life to his fellow KSI-bots, like Stinger, Two-Head, etc. They served him and fought for him, so for all intents and purposes, THEY were all Decepticons, too.

    Simple as that!

Oh, and Lockdown was solely a "Decepticon" insofar as his toy was concerned, to keep things simple for the kiddies and to protect plot points for his character within the as-yet-unreleased movie.

Speaking of which, some of the movie's main plot points were reviving the Decepticon leader, his plan to render humanity extinct, and the introduction of the Dinobots. So why NOT use a logo that's half dinosaur footprint and half Decepticon insignia?

    Seems pretty straightforward to me.

    ;)

Yeah, Galvatron basically is Megatron, and like I said in my previous post he actually is responsible for a lot of the things going, like the pursuit of the Seed deal by KSI and Cemetery Wind, KSI's robots, Galvatron's appearance and sentience, and controlling KSI's creations. Megatron/Galvatron is the cause of a massive deception. He is the definition of a Decepticon.

Additionally, I think the logo is meant to show how resilient the Decepticons and their leader are. Their numbers can be greatly reduced and their leader secretly live as only a head and they can still come back.

Best line in the film. That was the exact moment where I had a mental flip from "oh god, this is terrible" to "oh god, this is hilarious" and I proceeded to enjoy the hell out of rest of the film.

Thank you for sharing your viewing experience . . . I enjoy movies through other people's experiences -- vicariously. The more times I see a film with someone, or the more observations I read about one, the richer all subsequent viewings become for me.

Why didn't Megatron give himself a Decepticon logo after he "came out"? And why did he come out as Galvy and not Megs?!

Not really big problems for me, but questions I'd been interested in an official answer of.

Since they didn't include any reason to assume Megatron deliberately GUIDED KSI towards the name Galvatron, one cane only assume that the name was part of the Transformium DNA programming "infected with Megatron's evil, nasty chromosomes," leading it to BECOME "Megatron reincernated" yet still asserting itself under the name Galvatron.

And Galvatron needed to maintain his cover to achieve his objectives. Forging a Decepticon insignia upon his chest PROBABLY would have ended his mission then and there. As for WHY NOT afterwards? Are you sure he didn't? And why waste the time if he could've?

Pretty his minions all knew who he was by then.

Yea some lines give me that impression too. Though I still find that "You have no soul!" and "That is why I have no fear!" exchange really cool.

The more I watch AOE, the more it falls in my list of Transformer movies.
While I do acknowledge the good bits such as Lockdown, a decent enough villain; Autobots with some form of characterisation and the performances of Kelsey Grammar and Stanley Tucci. I just think this movie is a disappointment.

Too long of a run time, Dinobots shoehorned, China pandering plus a plot that requires you to keep your brain alive for a moment. Also while I do like the way Bay films action in his films, this movie kind of feels ludicrous with all the explosions and mass destruction due to the run time.

Repeating an opinion in no way "betrays" an inability to justify said opinion, perhaps I agree with that opinion and its original justification. And quite frankly the line sounds like something out of a poorly written piece of fan fiction, regardless of any pseudo-intellectual meaning you want to try and squeeze out of it. The line is just ridiculous.
