i was furious after seeing how soundwave & especially starscream & shockwave were killed...it will always bother me & is a dark spot on the franchise...starscream's death, if you're a decepticon fan is infuriating...at least soundwave was killed by bee..but he got his ass kicked...if you're a decepticon fan..the last hour of dotm is horrendous.

DOTM was a case of Bay lacking awareness for the franchise. Decepticon leadership(Megs, Screams, Sounds, Shocks) got terrible treatment in DOTM.

Not enough screentime and just killed off randomly because it was the final film...................or was it?

The whole series of movies don't seem to be mapped out well.

I really hate how badly the "boy and his car" nonsense backfired. I want a proper transformers movie. Not a humans with their robot friends movie.

Mapped out? They were literally made them up as they went along. Hopefully the writers' room has at least made sure that future films have had a decent amount of forward planning.

I think if Paramount, Bay, the writers, and the rest of the creative team had known that Transformers 4 was going to be the same continuity, basically the same film team, and same everything else that they would not have killed off Soundwave, Starscream, and Megatron. Shockwave sadly I think they were just determined to do something stupid that would piss off fans.

So to bring back Soundwave and Starscream somehow is just fixing one of the mistakes of the franchise.

Sure some people will be all sorts of upset about continuity but the films have been just make it up as you go along without really hurting the world wide box office. I honestly don't think that if they brought back Soundwave and Starscream like they have Megatron several times now that it will cause people to say the heck with it I'm not watching the next movie. The people still buying tickets to see these films in theaters will continue to pay to see these films if they play the back from the dead cards on more than Prime and Megatron.

If they are drawing on the Transformers mythology as a whole then Starscream back from the dead almost seems like a must. Just look at how many times they killed Starscream in one episode of Transformers Animated. It's almost like they have characters mixed up as Starscream is the rotten bastard that keeps cheating death not Megatron.

Starscream coming back as a ghost to haunt the hell out of Sam would be fun payback. His unfinished business is he never caught that kid and that's pretty much all Megatron ever told him to do.

Killing off the top names in the Decepticon ranks sucks for me because I like seeing those characters in any capacity. It does open the door for cool new characters like Barricade assuming Decepticons get some flattering focus in the next film.

Megs, Screamer and Wave hanging out making evil plans together was good to see. I want to see more scenes like that, Decepticons making plans together in a base rather than guys who just meet up some place and tear it up

In my opinion, they are likely not coming back.

How will they execute this thing? How do you repair Soundwave's head and spark? Same goes with Starscream? They both got their sparks and cranial units destroyed? How will they make it plausible in the movieverse?

Exactly when has the movie-verse been all that concerned with plausible? We've had a cube that could change size and mass, we've had robot heaven, Cybertron had no gravitational effects on the Earth, and a long laundry list of things not even in the same zip code as plausible. If the production team really wants to bring them back they would just do it and plausible be damned.

    re: starscream

that death scene gets worse each time i watch it..absolutely cringe-worthy stuff.

idk why his chest explodes...makes no sense

hopefully he comes back in some shape or form because that was just an insult to the character
