So with the similar theme between the images of Optimus Prime and Megatron, I started thinking about what significance there could be between the images. Here is what I think could be a possibility: Megatron and Optimus are now the same being. Notice the red on their faces, it is the opposite side, the purple eyes, and the many panels/intricate design of the faces. Possibly the creators merge Megatron's consciousness with Optimus and Megatron is trying to be the dominant brain of Optimus' body.

I think the first question would be how did the Creators reach Megatron.

 

A movie version of Guiltar would be insane.

 

Megatron was hooked up to a bunch of wires and such right? Maybe he managed to pull an Ultron and upload himself into the internet and the creators found him.

 

Guiltaur, absolutely. And how did he come to be? Quintessons.

 

This theory would be a cool way to bring in the Reverse Convoy concept since that figure/character both had an Optimus and Megatron head on him.

 

You know, I have half-jokingly noted in the past that Megatron secretly wants to be Optimus. See his progression:

In ROTF, he gets a ground-based alt mode

In DOTM, he becomes a large truck

In AOE, he becomes specifically a semi truck cab

I was expecting in TF5 he'd get flames, but sure, just cut to the chase and merge with Optimus completely!  

 

Personally I think that it would also make for a very interesting and personal story when the other Autobots find out. Like maybe when enraged he loses control and the Megatron side becomes dominant.

 

I think Megatron is jealous of Optimus. It's likely that Sentinel was a mentor to both Optimus and Megatron. If Sentinel favored Optimus because Optimus was a member of the Dynasty of Primes, Megatron would have a good reason to be jealous as that would be favoritism based on bloodline and not on merit.

 

Insert Marvel Onslaught, who was a merge of Magneto and Prof Xavier's mind into a villain.


While I like the idea of Optimus Prime and Megatron being reflections of each other, I'm not sure they would be so easily merged into one being.

 

I've always thought of AOE Galvatron being like a Reverse Convoy even if it isn't in quite the same way (hence my avatar and username  )
