Well, there's no reason not to talk about it in here. This IS the TF movie subforum, after all.

Anyway, this is pretty interesting and unexpected casting, not to mention a surprising new character. I wonder if maybe Brains ran off with her after leaving the railway museum.

I just hope Cade doesn't go all superprude/control-freak on her and Tessa gives her those old cut-off shorts as a hand-me-down, lol.

 

Michael Bay probably got her to wash his car.

 

If so, I just hope it's in the movie this time.

Always good to see a kid stepping up and getting some work, right?

If this turns out to be true, and I think this rumor will likely end up being true, then I am actually really glad about this development. From the character and story description this really has the potential to be unlike any of the Transformers-human friendships or alliances so far in the films. Sam and Bee were friends because Sam had the glasses, and Bee was disguised as his first car. Prime and Cade were friends by complete chance, yet they had some parallels in their circumstance. They related to each other in some important ways. Dylan Gould viewed Soundwave and Laserbeak as clients, but there was still a level of personal respect between them. Lockdown and Attinger were natural allies given they both wanted to rid Earth of Autobots and Decepticons, but while Lockdown wasn't a backstabber by any stretch, he also had a cynical attitude towards humans and other species he encountered, including his allies.

Based on the description this new friendship is seemingly different, because in this instance the girl's only friend is a small Transformer. Cade and Prime were great together, but he had a close human friend and a daughter he cared about. Sam also had parents and girlfriends and friends. In this instance the Transformer is basically all the girl has in terms of friends. It could be really interesting in terms of both Transformer and human characterization.

As for who the Transformer could be, I'm open minded. I think Brains could be neat. Since he played a role in Galvatron's origins he could further play a role central to the story in that regard. I'm also open to Wheelie having secretly survived all of this time; he is a small Transformer after all.

However, I'm open to new characters. I've seen Fixit's name thrown around. Also, who said the Transformer friend had to be an Autobot? What if the Transformer is a small Decepticon or neutral Transformer. If it were a Con, it could be a Decepticon that's not genocidal or tyrannical but who has some admirable qualities. I'd suggest a Marvel-inspired Carnivac as a strong possibility if they went that route, but maybe Ratbat, too.

Those are my thoughts. This definitely has potential in my mind.

i mean, i love brains to death. i think he is the best character the movies have created, and would love to see him in that part. BUT, the movies do have a history of introducing new characters each movie for the sake of plot, and i would imagine they would have the robot have been with her since she was little or something. just my opinion.

Yeah. New characters are great and all, but I miss the old characters too. Even if they weren't developed, like Sideswipe. That "Autobots Unite" scene in Age of Extinction is awesome, but I can't help but feel like it would've had more "weight" if some of the established characters were there too.

And I'm still upset that the Twins were just completely written out of Dark of the Moon and that Wheelie wasn't with Brains in AoE.

At least they gave Ratchet a proper send off rather than just have him "disappear".
