Then what is the point of saying things like "I want * to be in the film"?

Don't know. Ask someone who says things like that.

It's all gonna depend on how good the trailers are.

Do Transformers movie fans value money gross in the same way casual movie fans value RottenTomatoes percentages?

    Edit: Like, seriously.

Before BVS i would of Said WW but now that the memes have set in and theirs a undeniable stink on the DC brand, and DC fans are now using the same arguments we transformers fans use to defend the movies.

    it could go ether way.

Wonder woman is gonna need Some really good trailers.

Neither. DCEU and TFEU are looking to be equally terrible.

Actually, the casual movie fan actually does value RT scores now.

As shown by this year, great reviews can elevate your movie's box office (Deadpool, Zootopia, Jungle Book) and bad reviews can sink your movie (BvS, Allegiant, The Huntman).

Yeah I think we have to start to accept that The Tomato metre is getting more relevant, and more accurate.

probably star wars episode 8. just saying. and then there is the lego batman movie, and guardian of the galaxy 2.

the chances of either of those having a bigger weekend than any of the above, is very slim, in my opinion.

As per the OP, the question was who would keep their launch date as they both were said to launch the same date. WW has since moved, so that means TF won.

On who would get the most money, time will tell.

ON the RT scores; I don't put much faith in it, as it seems the critics among other things give bad ratings if the movie does not focus on humans enough.

Some people do. There was a commercial for "Barbershop" which showcased it's RottenTomatoes percentage at one point, though I do admit that was sort of a bit wierd and unconventional.

Batman v Superman left a lot of disappointment in a lot of places. If Wonder Woman was the next DC film up for Warner Brothers then yea a big worry if BvS would drag down Wonder Woman's opening weekend and thus the whole run.

But if somehow Suicide Squad can knock it out of the park then Wonder Woman might be in good shape. Just look at how things have gone with Marvel/Disney, a bad movie comes out and people say well Marvel/Disney has lost their touch and the superhero bubble has popped. Then Marvel/Disney does a film lots of people enjoy and it's the superhero train is never going to end. People tend to forgive studios as soon as a good film is out so Fox went from bums with Fantastic Four to people loving them after Deadpool.

Transformers really doesn't have much to turn around feeling between now and Transformers 5. Transformers geeks will keep up with things like a writers room with solid talent on it but most people know nothing about the next Transformers at this point.
