I'd love it too but if they ever go Rated R....it won't have the depth Berserk does. Then again maybe Transformers isn't meant to be that.....
I actually thought about an R rated Transformers and now I'm all, eh, I like the movies they are right now. Honestly though? After RiD15 or whatever TV show they have planned next they need to go Star Wars Clone Wars here with a darker and more serious toned show (like what Prime did). Sure I love the light hearted and oddity that Transformers is right now but I think there'd be enough material in the lore to work on a darker level.
there's serious toned...and then there's R or MA. One does not bequeath the other. I've wanted to see an anime style in the vein of "Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex" for a while now...but that can be accomplished without sex and graphic violence, too, that would lend itself to an MA rating.
I dunno...with an R rating there's a risk we'll hear Optimus Prime or Bumblebee just out of the blue say the ruder version of "mothertrucker," and I have a feeling most people ain't ready to hear that. lmao
Only if the scriptwriter doesn't know jack-crap about the characters he's writing. I could see Iron Hide dropping f-bombs, though.
Eh I don't think so, it just doesn't seem to fit. I mean don't get me wrong Transformers can handle Mature themes, but just the idea of it becoming Rated R just seems eh I guess odd.
Sometimes it feels like we already have a robotic version of 300. Not really sure how some titties, cussing, or buckets of human blood would actually improve the movies. While it's a weird word to use for it I find a lot of dark, grim, realistic, or rated R to be more childish than some of the stuff actually made for kids. It often doesn't seem like it's done for enhanced story telling but to be used to fill some sort of testosterone driven male fantasies. Instead of to tell a story it's more to be like the Colosseum of ancient Rome for those screaming for blood. The cartoon series Avatar the Last Airbender seemed much deeper than the adult series. Death isn't something fun the hero does to be a hero but a moral problem Ang must tangle with as everyone says he must kill the Fire Lord. Heck I'd take another season of Young Justice over some of these projects for adults. Films like Deadpool have their place but perhaps it is just from getting older but a part of me longs for a reminder of more innocent days.
I would like to see more serious, realistic, adult Transformers fiction but that seems to be the opposite of R-rated. We allready have transformers slicing and tearing each others heads and arms of, crashing each others head with their foot, the problem is none of that is fysically realistic unless one robot is about ten times the size of the other... And still nobody gets hurt by gunshots, laserfire etc... They never even get hit while a dozen guys are emptying their guns at them point blank. What's being asked for is not adult, dark or realistic. It's just a cheap slashermovie. You want realistic ? Then for starters let's just stop with the conceit that ANYBODY handling a sword has any hope of staying alive long enough taking on even one opponent with a gun to give you guys the gore you crave, then we'll talk. Even in movies without transformers that have been named i have seen people cut in half and the like surviving withoit a problem. This is not dark, it's just unrealistic, voyeuristic nonsense.
well IMO, transformer movie already in R-rating.. i mean have you seen the violence that call psychopathic face ripping optimus prime? he decapitated megatron in slow motion..with oils and wire flying out.. tell me that isnt R rating material..
Well, they already have: humping dogs, rape jokes, pot brownies, giant testicles and needless (and ugly) eye candy. That's all pretty R rated stuff.
