Yes, but will the Quintessons even SLIGHTLY resemble the Quintessons. That is the question.

To be honest I'm just not excited for the Creators. Wasn't a fan of Quintessons back in the G1 days so it's never been an idea I was really into.

Kind of seems like they are running out of cool villains when they had to go to Animated to borrow a villain and now it's looking like maybe the movie version of Quintessons.

Really makes you wonder why they bother constantly pulling Megatron resurrections out of their ass in the first place - he hasn't been a legitimate big bad as much as pretty much a moderate annoyance to the Autobots ever since ROTF.

It's probably because it's a popular Transformers character.

I'm not sure I understand how "quint" to the average Joe meaning "five" has anything to do with being "The Creators."

The average Joe knows the Creators to be the ones that created Prime. Calling them the Quintessons wouldn't tell the average Joe jack crap.

But as always, I'm excited! Bring on the news and the trailers and then the films and toys! Yeah!

Honestly, I think it's a good thing the Creators are largely mysterious, but at the same time we were given plenty of hints and tidbits about them. We know they caused the extinction of the dinosaurs and cyberformed thousands of worlds. We see an organic arm augmented by some technology. Lockdown gives some hints to their motivation, and we know that they built the Transformers to be slaves, and that they want the remaining Autobots and Decepticons destroyed, with the exception of the Knights so far as we know.

I'm glad we're actually getting into the creation of the Cybertronians after not getting a story with the Quints for a while now.

I hate to burst your bubble, but to the average joe, neither "Quintesson" NOR "the Creators" means jack crap. You are assuming the average joe not only pays attention to the intricacies of the movies' plots, but then retains that information 5 minutes after they leave the theater, much less 3 years later, which I do not think is a safe assumption.

Agreed with all this. Because who knows, it may not be the Quintessons. Which would be great. Because fuck G1.

That's why all my friends who aren't into Transformers are curious as to who the creators are and keep asking me if I have any idea?

The movie has plot, it doesn't have plot, it's the fault of the writers, it's the fault of the viewers.

Ya'll need to make up your minds.

Regardless though, the average Joe would know what a "Creator" is, as opposed to knowing what a "Quintesson" is. Which was entirely my point. Not the BS you want to assume which may or may not be wrong.

I mean it says it in the title. "Creators." Fairly cut and dry.

I have to admit, I'm not really sure which side of what argument either of you are coming down on! :lol

I'll just say, using Quintessons as the MovieVerse creators is fine imo. Most people don't know what Quintessons are, and those that do will either be pleased with the nod to G1, or irrationally butthurt for some reason.

Creators seems like a fairly generic term. People who remember G1 might think Quintessons but for people who don't remember G1 that well or who never watched G1 might be thinking just ancient alien race that seems to be connected to the Transformers.

Since it's the film series we can't even be sure if the aliens will look like the G1 Quintessons or if the production team will radically reinvent the look if it is the Quintessons.

I liked G1, but I honestly want the Creators to be at least a little different from the G1 Quints regardless of whether they share their name or not.
The five-faced mechanical squid designs wouldn't work well in live action without some serious changes if you ask me.

Funny enough, in the G1 Marvel Comics continuity it was said that the Quintessons were like remoras or pilotfish to the shark of Unicron. Unicron would destroy worlds, and the Quints would pick up the "scraps"...the survivors fleeing Unicron's attack. If Unicron shows up I hope there's a deep connection between him and the Creators. Maybe he's their ultimate weapon gone rogue. Maybe they serve him out of fear. Maybe they created Cybertronians to act as an army against Unicron.

I'm just hoping that Michael Bay continues showing the signs of improvement that he had shown in Age of Extinction.

As long as Bay doesn't cocktease us with the Dinobots again, I'm all for it.

Maybe now we might see the rest of the Movie Dinobots getting placed into the plot, because the most obvious reason they got cut was time; the Dinobots were like in 10 minutes out of the nearly 2 hour film.

I kinda like the way they looked in G1, but typically I don't really like tentacles on movie aliens, it always feels a little bit of a sellout creatively, and I can't shake the hentai anime association! :lol
The MovieVerse Quints could just be 5 separate beings that are connected telepathically or something.

Yes, but the curve has to get severely steeper.

I didn't like that the Dinobots didn't speak, and it didn't really seem like they were needed (Prime could have just brought Hound some more ammo, the rate he was blasting through the KSi cons) but the dinos were pretty cool and I didn't have a problem with their introduction being limited to a final act showpiece, so long as it defintely was an introduction, and they'll be used properly in future movies.

And they must have someone their own size to pick on!
