    Hi guys,

Good evening. How is everyone? I hope everyone is doing awesome!!! Jimmy here from Chicago. I came across some interesting information potentially about Transformers 5(and please let me know if anyone has posted this, I looked and I really didn't see anything other than Bay's main interview that was posted).

In an interview conducted by Dean Richards of WGN Chicago, Richards was interviewing Michael Bay and the stars of his latest movie '13 hours,' at the 5:38 mark of the audio in the link below from the whole interview Richards proceeds to ask if he(Bay) will be returning to Chicago and he then replies "I think so," from there he jokes about blowing up another Chicago street this time and then goes into talking about returning to Transformers and the status of big budget franchises in general, then he goes back to talking about '13 hours.' Now although he did not state outright and confirm that TF5 will filming here in Chicago, he remained somewhat cryptic about it. Also he did not specifically say what he's returning to Chicago for, but you can bet its going to be something Transformers related. He has gone on record numerous times, including this interview, about how he loves filming in Chicago, so this is going to be pretty awesome if he does!!!:)

When Transformers 3 filmed here he pretty much shut the city down from July-Sept of 2010. When he came back in 2013 to film Transformers 4 the filming was as huge, a little more scaled back, and his time in Chicago was a bit shorter. Perhaps for TF5 it will be a short time again, or maybe it will parallel TF3 filming. If he is shooting for a summer 2017 release then the movie would film here some time this summer!!!!!!8)

I'll be sure to keep everyone here at TFW2005 up to date. Thanks guys and be good!:)

Yeah man totally, they have pretty much cemented Chicago as the center of a lot of major plot points in the Transformers movie universe.

^ Well, since TF:DotM, at least!

Man, I am SO excited that I might get the chance to go downtown and watch invisible Decepticons BLOW CHICAGO THE FUCK UP again someday soon!

I got to go to the extras casting call for that movie AND ride my bike downtown all Summer to watch shit go BANG! It was TOO goddamned awesome. But too much is NEVER enough!

Especially after leaving town to follow Marilyn Manson on tour for the duration of of TF:AoE's filming in Chicago (damnit, I JUST missed 'em in TX!), I am EXTREMELY excited to have another go at it for TF5!!!

Of course, I'm kinda living in New Hampshire right now...but, HEY, I made it back for the midnight premiere of Star Wars Ep. VII: The Force Awakens, so there's NO WAY IN HELL I'm missing out on TF5, w00t.

    (Unless Manson's on tour again!)

    ;)

KSI, is probably defunct after what happened in Age Of Extinction.

I guess Chicago doesn't have to be appearing as Chicago, didn't it double as Hong Kong last time. Maybe this time it'll double as Cybertron! :D

Yeah man totally. THATS AWESOME!!! Same here. Were you cast in TF3 or 4? I got to go to both casting calls and my mom was actually cast and in TF3 as Sam's neighbor. What I got to see...SO AMAZING!!!! Oh man thats a shame, but in my experience nothing beats the first time when TF3 filmed here. I can still feel the heat on my face of when they were blowing stuff up on Wacker!!!8) Don't worry man you won't miss it;)

Heh so it's Chicago again. Wonder what this could mean for the plot of TF5? I wish I could be the part of the filming experience. Seems my entire family but me have been cast a extras in a film like how last year my grandparents were cast as Extras in the film Independence Day: Resurgence since the movie director wanted to use their RV for a scene and they got to be one of the people stuck in a traffic jam when the aliens attack.

I bet it would be amazing to see the action and of course the invisible transformers blowing everything up.

Just have to point out that while 58% on rotten tomatoes is much better than the TF movies have generally enjoyed, it is in fact a splat and far from a critical success. Also opening at #4 at the box office with 16 million might put it on track to make its money back (maybe), but its so far a long ways from a commercial success.

Not saying any of these claims are wrong, just very premature. :D

Also, I look forward to TF5! (in all of it's glorious badness- come on Bay, prove me wrong- please, please, please)

It's fair at this point to say it's a critical failure. I would also ring it up as a commercial failure given a similarly heavy-handed military movie last year tore up the charts in American Sniper. And even that had some help from the Oscar season buzz.

So unless it gets some great word of mouth this week (which so far it hasn't) I don't think it's going to bounce back.

Likely one of the reasons Bay's willing to hop back on board the Transformers gravy train.

13 hours opened up in fourth place this weekend with $16 million. Hardly a commercial success.

For a guy that hates how Hollywood only wants big budget franchise films, he sure is filming the fifth Transformers movie. I didn't know where to go but I made it.
