If Bayformers doesnt suffer the same fate as Amazing Spider-Man, givee it a few years and we will get a Cybertron centered movie, since they are doing one, which will be written by the guys who will write Ant-Man 2

most are judging the film based on who is directing the movie, based on his previous four films.

Given that the films have a pattern to them and the studio hasn't seen to really change that pattern after 4 films unless there is a serious shake up in the top offices at Paramount we can pretty much just fill in the blanks for the next movie.

Optimus Prime is going to kill someone so who will he kill this time? A McGuffin every film so what will the McGuffin be this time? Which Decepticon will get killed off this time? Which Autobot will die this time? They only have to bring Megatron back from the dead every other films so this time they don't have to bring him back. Which robot is going to be hyped up only to get 5 minutes in the film this time?

If there had been big changes between films we wouldn't know what we are getting. But at this point love it or hate it we know what we are getting 5 films into it. Writers have changed before and actors have changed but it's still the same stuff some people love and some people hate.

You want virtually no humans? Check out what the theaters look like after Paramount follows your plan.

Yeah, WE would like a movie set on Cybertron with Transformers as the actual characters and little to no humans taking screen time away from them. I'd outright love it. But that is never ever going to happen in a live-action blockbuster summer movie. Because it would tank at the box office, and everyone even tangentially connected to making these decisions knows it.

I'll definitely go see the film unless I'm out of the country in 2017.

Edit: I meant seeing it opening day in the United States.

Where could you possibly be that the movies wouldn't? Is there a country in the world that won't be showing TF5?

I didn't clarify my post enough, I meant seeing the film in English when it's released in the United States instead of seeing it when it comes out in Taiwan or Norway.

Ah. I'm in Japan, but it's still easy to find a showing in English here. But I guess not all countries like subtitles.

Right! The theatres in Japan always show both the dubbed and subbed versions of Hollywood movies, and the good thing about watching movies in English here is that most people go to see the dubbed version! Both times I saw Force Awakens was in a half empty theatre with no one under the age of 20 in there!

The bad side is that ROTF DOTM and AOE all opened more than a month after they did in the UK/US (TF probably too, but I wasn't here then,) so I expect TF5 to do the same.

While Michael Bay did indeed show improvement with AOE, I don't want to be too optimistic since I learned the hard way that if you build up something too much for yourself, you'll be disappointed. So I'll wait for the trailers and decide from there. I have faith he'll improve based on the Ninja Turtles 2 trailers I've seen but better safe than sorry.

Yeah, SPECTRE was a month late, and that was a brutal wait.

But Star Wars, I saw in a near-packed theater. I was surprised how many people opted for the subtitles...especially surprised at how many elementary school age children there were. I don't think I'd be able to PAY my nephews in the States to watch a movie subtitled. Maybe not even on a dvd, much less a theater.

I'm pretty sure I'll see it, HATE it and then buy the DVD and rewatch the fights a thousand times just like the previous ones.

(to be fair, DOTM and the original are OK as movies- not good, but they work passably)

I make it a habit to watch every new Transformers cartoon or movie that comes out. Maybe it'll be good, maybe it'll be bad. Honestly, I'm just gonna wait and see.
