Yeah I agree, the friendship is there and he indeed helped a lot, but I just wished they explored it more like with Optimus and Cade. Just maybe one little scene to give more insight to Sam's bond with the autobots. Heck not even the fourth movie gives us insight since Sam isn't mentioned at all despite the three previous movies wanting to make it clear he had a bond with the autobots, especially Bumblebee.
No thank you. I didn't like Sam's character. The fact that he was an awkward college kid, way in over his head didn't bother me, but his performance confused and frustrated me and he acted like a lil prick to his friends. For the record, I didn't like him much in Crystal Skulls either. I would've rather they brought back the actor who played Shorty all grown up. That kid was a competent bad ass!
