https://youtu.be/N0NhP3UR_ZU I managed to stumble upon this gem on the internet. I am guessing some of you have seen this before, But I was curious. Why would they render an entire fight between Shockwave and Optimus for just 1 burger king commercial?
In the beginning they used the scene where Prime gets his axe and sword from the movie but then it's not that much of a fight to render so...
still though, why wouldn't they have just thrown in another battle, obviously not the sentinel fight. I know it is suppose to lead us astray but it still makes me wonder.
Better question: Why bring in a universally loved character from the franchise, give him a design that was somehow faithful to the character and a perfect fit for the established aesthetic, and introduce him into the canon in a way that makes complete sense - only to have him disappear for almost the entire movie and have his presence be an utter and total waste?
Oh your right, his whole "fighting style" is a carbon copy of sentinel's moves. Also, yes, definitely should have saved shockwave for AOE and then given him Lockdown's role, would have worked perfectly, especially with the dinobots involved.
It's been 4 years. Move on. As for your question OP, Bay makes 20 times the GDP of a small nation everytime one of these cinematic abortions hits theaters. He can pay ILM to render whatever they damn well please.
They actually did that (in some kind of a way)... Anyone who remembers 2-heads? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oL--GKa-WbI
But we did get 2-heads and that's better than nothing. He had a more honorable fight scene against hound instead being taken out with a parachute
I personally wouldn't want Lockdown to be replaced with Shockwave, Lockdown in the movie was a badass but yeah Shockwave could have been saved for the future movies.
