That would be neat. What would also be cool if they do go along with this idea he'd actually be sort of an Optimus Primy looking bot but with a trailer that gives him a suit of armour that makes him more like the classic UM but done in a knight way. I'd love to see that.
And inevitably Optimus persuades Magnus that the creators are evil and they end fighting against them, side-by-side. I think I like the sound of that. Which of course means they won't do anything like it.
While I think Magnus likely will and should appear at some point or another in the Movieverse, I really want new Autobots in TF 5 to be kept to a minimum. The AOE Autobot cast was the best by a huge margin in the films, and I want to see more of both the Pathetic Dirty Foursome and learn about the Dinobots. Maybe one or two new Autobots of note, but that's it. Also, I don't just want the most demanded Autobots like Magnus, Rodimus, Prowl, etc. I'd rather see less appreciated characters like Beachcomber, Punch-Counterpunch, Cosmos, etc. Although as I said not all in the next film.
I'm honestly not expecting to see the Dinobots again. They've had big cast turnovers in every movie as the original core cast slowly died out over the 4 films. I'm not expecting anything different in the fifth. Optimus and BB will return, with most of the rest of the TF4 cast killed off-camera between movies or just plain gone with no explanation. Then a bunch of new bots.
