Greetings my TFW 2005 Brothers and Sisters. It's been awhile since I posted anything so I thought something a bit more friendlier would do.

Even though I may not like the movies that much anymore actually I hate them, but that's not the point and I'm not going in depth with to why I hate them. I really liked many of the movie designs for the Transformers.

I'm just here to find out who are some peoples favorite movie designs, I'll do my first.

    My Top Ten are:

1 Megatron: Megatron is my favorite Transformers Character and I loved his movie design. His head design kinda reminds me of a humanoid Tyrannosaurus Rex. His design in ROTF was my favorite design for out of the first three movies.

2: Optimus Prime: I actually really like Movie Optimus's Design in both the first trilogy and AOE they looked really cool.

3 Sentinel Prime and Shockwave: Both of these two share number three because their designs are look really cool. Sentinel has that Gundam robot style going on which is really cool and Shockwave is just scary looking, awesome old school Cyclops monster design going there.

4 Ironhide: This probably my favorite version of the character. He's cool, he's big, and has cool awesome alternate truck mode.

5 Racthet: This is also probably my favorite version of the character. I liked his figures too. Sucks that I don't have not one of his toys.

6 Bumblebee: Bumblebee's Design in the first three movies were probably my favorite I actually don't like his redesign in AOE. I didn't like that claw looking weapon thing he had in AOE. His weapon designs were better in the first trilogy.

7 Lockdown: His design is really cool. Cold, Calculating, and every time he comes on screen you know things just got real.

8 Blackout and Grindor: Their design are some my favorites in the movieverse. These guys are the heavy hitters of the Decepticons and their helicopter alt. form is really cool.

9 Crosshairs: I thought Crosshairs design was one of my favorite designs in AOE. I liked the trench coat thing it looked pretty cool.

10 The Fallen: The last one in my top ten list probably be The Fallen. I liked the evil look they were going with and also loved the concept of him being the originator of the decepticons instead of Megatron.

Here are some character designs that didn't make my list, but I still really liked.

    Sideswipe
    Dino
    Que
The Wreckers: Leadfoot, Roadbuster, and Topspin
    The Dreads
    Barricade
    Brawl
    Bonecrusher
    Hound
The Constructicons and Devastator(without those stupid wrecking balls).
    Jazz
    Starscream
I actually like Skids and Mudflaps.

There are some I actually don't really like that much, but I hope you guys find my picks interesting and share your thoughts.

Also I'm not comparing character development I'm just taking about the designs so please keep it within the topic as best you can, Thank you.

The best TF movie design, and one of the best carbot designs of the past 30 years is ROTF Sideswipe.

ROTF Devastator. Not as Devastator himself, just the design. It would be a perfect fit for Monstructor.

Starscream. His design is just so unusual. I admit hating him at first blush due to being on the "has to be G1 or GTFO" train, but after seeing him in action in the first Bay movie, I started to change my mind. His design just makes sense, from the awesome F-22 Raptor alt mode (Cybertronian tattoos notwithstanding), the pilot-mask face sculpt, the springy chicken legs (perfect for making hard landings and propelling himself high up in the air for quick take-offs mid-transformation), the rocket boosters on his back, the weapons he's packing on each arm (plus saw blade for hacking at airborne foes to clip their wings), etc. I did dislike him drooling and spitting everywhere in the sequels though, but that was more a "all Cons are snarling beasts with zero personalities" issue and not necessarily a Starscream-specific issue.

Barricade. Bad guy disguised as a black-and-white police car is just cool, like an evil version of Prowl (also reminds me of Robert Patrick's T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day) but with a ram outfitted on the front. Loved the Saleen S281E alt mode (which even inspired me to buy/drive a black Mustang myself). Bot mode is pretty cool too, and very menacing. Definitely invokes a interceptor/interrogator vibe to me. His partnership with Frenzy was just an awesome bonus (I'm actually kinda glad that Bay and co. decided to scrap Soundwave from the first movie and gave us Barricade instead). I do wish he had more of a personality in the films though, instead of just yelling and growling at Sam (and everyone else he briefly interacted with).

Sideswipe. The wheel feet for unmatched maneuverability plus his arm blades plus his cocky swordsman personality all equal straight up badass. Yes, he's good. Damn good. That and the Corvette Stingray concept is a cool-looking car. I do wish he had been metallic red and black to hearken back to his G1 design though, rather than silver.

I concur! Of all of Starscream's designs, none convey as much power as his live action version. Personally, after reading snippets and single-panels of The Reign of Starscream comics, I want to see Starscream in a more menacing light. I haven't gotten my hands on that series, but they've made me see Starscream as a competent warrior who instills terror in the hearts, a commander worthy of his position as Megatron's second-in-command, a monster whose greatest downfall isn't his idiocy but his pride and paranoia. I see a man who can easily seize power, but has problems keeping it. I see an entirely different beast than Megatron.

And none of his other designs sell that.

    These panels ooze with personality:
    Insight into Starscream's thinking
    Starscream rescuing Thundercracker

Crosshairs, Drift, & Hound. It may seem bias because I love AOE but they were awesome designs. The trench coat, the belly, and the samurai armor those were cool. Of course I could say every design of AOE was awesome.

I think mine goes Sentinel, Optimus, Lockdown and then DotM Megs, I don't like him being a truck, I just liked seeing him all beat up.

Gotta go with what Timesynch and Dragonzzilla said, Starscream's design just worked for me sure his body is Dorito shaped but I still really digged it it just evoked this sense of power and his size compared to most of the Autobots added to that. I like when the Decepticons are huge compared to the Autobots. His Leader class toy is one of the few movie toys I still own.

Other mentions go to Dark of the Moon Megatron he looked defeated and worn out, he had this kinda rusty apperance and the chains on him helped with the look. He now has an actual vehicle mode now which looks like something out of Mad Max, and having a hood and cape to hide his face. He had this awesome pump shotgun which just added to this whole hobo road warrior fell he had.

Also Shockwave it was a great design that actually looked like the guy from G1 just with more spikes and more extra terrestrial looking, just wish like DOTM Megatron it had a Leader class toy.

I loved the designs of most of them. Among my favorites:

    Ironhide
    Brawl
    Sideswipe
    Laserbeak
    Blackout
    Ratchet
    Optimus
    Grimlock

with the exception of a few I couldn't stand...

Que (that face was borderline scary, poor movie design for Wheeljack)
The twins goofy looking faces. (body style and vehicles were good)
Everything in AOE minus the Dinobots. To quote a comment made by another TFW2005 member on another thread: "there was little or no vehicle kibble on them." They didn't look like, well Transformers. Just very sleek robots. Personally I'm a fan of them being a bit bulkier with a few vehicle parts sticking out.

    Based purely on aesthetics:

    1) Sideswipe. Gundam meets The Guyver! Get in!

    2) Bonecrusher. I loved the cons that had this look, Brawn and the constructions had a similar ethnic design, Bonecrusher wins because of his awesome oversized minesweeper!

    3) but Longhaul comes in a close third, he looks big and tough, a bit g1'y and basically cool.

    4) Ravage. Always been a big Ravage fan, and although I hated the initial concept designs, when I saw him moving it all made sense, 1 eye or 2. Damn you bumblebee.

    5) Although 69' Bumblebee is actually really cool. I've generally come to terms with how MovieVerse bumblebee looks a bit shit, and started to enjoy his expressiveness, he's slightly better defined in AOE than the trilogy and that alt mode is the best car in all the movies, I mean seriously, fuck Bugatti!

    6) Barricade. I wish we'd got to know barricade better, he's incredibly intimidating and sharp looking, and disguising the Decepticon scout as a Police (Muscle) Car was an inspired choice (even if probably lifted directly from T2.)

    7) Shockwave was probably one of the most disappointing characters in the movies, simply because he looked so good, and quintessentially Decepticon like. Someone took G1 Shockwave and crossed him with Ivan Drago!

    8) Ironhide! This design really optimised the Ironhide character. Big and tough and a lovely big heavy altmode (to say nothing of the best Transformation sequence in the whole series! Front end of ROTF, check it out)

    9) Dino is just so red and sleek and dangerous looking, a perfect companion to Sideswipe. Why those 2 weren't the focus of DOTM I'll never understand.

    10) Brawn. Even in robot mode he still looks like a tank. And that cool head design.

As an afterthought , I do also quite like the the more humanoid aesthetic of AOE, especially lockdown and Drift.

    Ebay:
    1) Ravage. DARPA needs to build this.

    2) AoE Optimus. I don't know why, but it just looks great on screen.

    3) DotM Optimus. Fixes most of the problems of the original design. I didn't like the original design at first, but it really is a very, very good one. It grows on you.

    4) Galvatron. All 3 megatron designs were misses in my book. Galvatron tries to be something different, and works.

    5) Bonecrusher!!!

    6) Ironhide. Great transformation scheme and a very good look.

    7) Blackout. Another very memorable transformation.

    9) Shockwave. Done perfectly.

    10) The Dinobots.

    Barricade, Brawl, Bonecrusher and Blackout.

The 4 B's are the coolest designs IMO.

Same for me. Just add both Sideswipe designs, Mirage, the Wreckers (though that's probably the NASCAR fan in me talking), Optimus, Bumblebee, Soundwave and Megatron's DOTM designs, Sentinel Prime, and all of the designs from AOE.

I like all of them except for the Twins, Movie 1 Megatron, and TF07-DOTM Bumblebee.

Yes, even the Arcees and Starscream.

I think my favorite would have to be DotM Megatron.

    DotM Optimus as runner-up.

But the aesthetic has really grown on me over the years, and now I like pretty much all of the designs.
