In TF4 Optimus Prime had rockets on his feet. That never became known til the end of the movie for whatever reason. Well in TF5 and beyond, there should be more fights with Optimus where he uses his rockets as an advantage, kinda like thrusters. This would create more unique fight scenes similar to the fights in Man of steel (such as the smallville fight). Another comparison is the Hulkbuster vs Hulk fight from Age of Ultron, although that fight was less unique in its choreography and more destruction focused. Of course in these scenes for TF5 there'll be just as much, if not more destruction, but unlike the Hulkbuster vs Hulk fight, the destruction would be reasonable, and not the main focus.
Since it does make Optimus kinda overpowering, other Transformers can be given different unique features that balance out the fight. Galvatron alone can put up a fight against Optimus better than the other Transformers from the first trilogy, so a battle between Optimus and him, in which Prime uses his thrusters, could still be fair given Galvatron without any additional features.

    What do y'all thdink?? :3

I think we've seen the last of Optimus' rocket-feet.

Which to me would not necessarily be a bad thing.

I would love to see a fan idea that is not inspired or a copy of another movie

Maybe if Blurr or some Velocitronians were involved.

But for everyone else, keep it at the normal pace (with some slo-mo in the right place).

As soon as I saw the Batman v Superman trailer I knew someone on here was going to relate transformers to it...My prediction was correct.

Edit: Also Galvatron already has an advantage, it's his morphing capabilities. So Optimus with Iron Man thruster feet vs Galvatron with morphing powers, sounds good to me.

I think I liked the forest fight in Revenge of the Fallen better than I liked the battles in Man of Steel or Hulk vs Hulkbuster. Kind of felt like the forest battle was more about the choreography of the fight while Man of the Steel and Hulk vs Buster felt like choreography got tossed in the back seat to put the focus on how much can we destroy in the fight.

I've got no problem with Prime using those rocket boots in a fight, I'm sure there are some visually cool things they could do with it. But my fingers are crossed for how good will the flow of the fight be.

Optimus Prime should be more like Batman! make him all black and make him brood in every scene! yeah people like Batman! they will love it!

They should get Zack Snyder to direct as well!

I agree with you 100%. Those two examples I gave were just to provide an idea of what I mean in terms of Optimus using his thrusters in combat.

You're assuming Optimus will BE in the next movie or even have some kind of role other than flying through the darkness of space...

Personally I agree with Ash - the extended version of that forest fight scene is one of the best scenes in the Transformers movies and really draws you into the battle through the choreography. More of that would be awesome.

I'd prefer actual fighting TBH. I'm tired of robots either taking wild swings at eachother, or just shooting at stuff. It lacks any originality. The forest fight is like the only truely noteworthy fight, everything else is just mindless shooting and

I'd prefer fight scenes like The Raid movies. A weird example but they've got the best fighting in any movie ever. Bare none. Transformers needs actual fighting like that, modified for giant robot scale. Martial arts cranked up to eleven and brutally choreographed. You'd think with robots that have fought so long they'd be better actual fighters. Or at least have visible variation in their fighting skills. :I

But each time he has an upgrade.

    Mocap could benefit of that.

I'd love to see motion capture in a Transformers movie.

It could, if properly scaled up for robots of their size. Mocap is difficult because it only really works for characters the same size as a person, so mo-capping for a TF would require tweaking. (but I'm sure they could do it no problem)

I think the movements would be improved upon with such tech to say the least.

Sounds interesting but i dunno about making him brooding and gritty when it works for Batman not Optimus.

The forest fight is garbage, every characters' goals can just change between shots willy nilly (like how they start chasing Megatron and two seconds later he's chasing them and it's not played like a surprise ambush or anything) and the geography of where the characters are is nonexistent. Plus it doesn't break down into actual, identifiable beats, and there's no emotional throughline, it's just a constant stream of superficially "cool" stuff happening. Which is not how an action scene should work.

But it plays because of where it's placed. It's long enough after any action scene that the "Holy shit!" of Bay's "insane" action suddenly exploding back into the movie sort of holds. As opposed to the final battle, where the novelty of "Ooh, look at all the moving elements in the frame!" wears off about 5 minutes in.

Man of Steel is the exact same way, BTW. When the first fight hits it's like "HOLY SHIT!" because it's so visceral in an immediate physical sense, and then it wears on and on and at a point it's just dumb and overwrought. Better than a Bay movie, but with the same problems.

Compare that to the work of a Steven Spielberg or a James Cameron, whose action actually does break down into beats, with a shifting but tangible emotional throughline ("Oh no, the hero's in danger!", "Oh yay, the villain got punched in the dick!" or whatever), and we know where everyone is, what they're doing, and why. And if we don't, the mystery is the point. It might seem trite and movie-y, but it's 100% more affective. Say what you might about T2, but that scene wear the T-1000 gets frozen, then shattered, and the pieces start melting and reforming, works better than anything in any of the Transformers movies.

We don't need to up the ante on choreography and general excess, but simply work on the basics. Then worry about the crazy shit.

EDIT: And Mocap could work if the suits were specially weighted to better simulate big robots. And if you didn't want any cool robot moves. Which I do.
