What up guys?? Jimmy here still representing the film industry here in Chicago...its been a while. How is everyone?? I hope everyone is doing good. Well it was on this day 5 years ago, July 10th 2010, that it all started. I cannot believe its been 5 years, 5 years since Michael Bay took over the loop for the first time with Transformers 3, he would return 3 years later to take over the loop a second time for Transformers 4. I can still remember that morning. Getting down on Lasalle before 7am first thing, it was already above 90 degrees, an extremely hot day, but it is Chicago It was then like an onslaught of film trucks, crew, cables, security, extras, visual FX's ash, crashed cars, the Autobots blasting right by me 5 feet away, Michael Bay walking right in front of me, Shia LaBeouf running and yelling, and so much more!!! I can still remember capturing every moment for you guys, from Prime's trailer, to the Wreckers, to explosions on Wacker. What a time to be alive. There was so much to see and follow for the 2 months that they were here, I think a lot of the thrill was trying to find and come across where they were going to be next. I have attached some of the images that I took over the 2 months of following the Bot insanity for you guys to relive. These events would also springboard myself head first into the Chicago Film Industry. I do hope the boys return to Chicago for TF5. Well guys I hope everyone is doing good and we'll talk again soon Oh and dudes its not like the memories are gone forever. The perimeter fence of The Department of Health and Human Services is still standing around the site of the Old Chicago post office They should really leave stuff behind at filming locations more often to cement the memories
5 years after the battle of Chicago,so that means AOE happened this year. And yeah that was exciting, the year I discovered this site. Can't wait to get back to that soon.Oh and happy birthday Autovolt!
Yeah I remember when I first saw the Wreckers down there for the first time right in front of me, I thought they were sort of a modified man made type transformer used by NEST!!!!
I keep meaning to post up some pictures. I got some pics of them using a helicopter to film the overhead shot of the Driller tearing into the one building. Also, saw them preparing to shoot a scene that never made it into the final cut. Apparently, there was supposed to be a scene after Lennox and his men touch-down in a park. They were standing around waiting to film, when word came down that they decided to wrap for the day. They had even redressed one of the chunked-up roadway props with grass, to make it look like something had blown up on the grassy lawn.
