For the record - I can't even tell if I'm being serious with these threads anymore.

Also, when I say "Who Could Play X", I don't mean who could play them in the Bay films. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I mean, when you think of the character, who do you think would be PERFECT as a live-action interpretation of the character? Who do you think, if given the opportunity to play the character, could do an incredible job? The character doesn't need to be a carbon copy of their original incarnation - hell, if all movie adaptations were THAT faithful, we never would have gotten Heath Ledger's version of the Joker. I'm running out of things to say, and I don't know how to transition anymore. Point is, let's forget that Bayverse Wheelie exists and go back to...

G1 Wheelie. We know him. And we loath him. The only people in Transformers lore that are hated as much as Wheelie are Michael Bay and the kids from Armada (or really just Armada in general). But, let's say when/if/buthopefullywhen they reboot it, he shows up. And NOT as a tragic childlike/schizophrenic victim of severe physical and psychological torture at the hands of the Decepticons, as a straight-up character with a similar (if VERY underplayed) personality to his G1 counterpart. Who could do the unthinkable and make us actually kind of... LIKE Wheelie?

    Easy. This guy.

People of TFW. Meet Chance the Rapper. Chance, people of TFW. Chance is...well, a rapper. He gained recognition for his VERY unique style after his mixtape "Acid Rap" was released. He got so famous that he even appeared on Justin Biebers single "Confident", but we can forgive him for that. As a result of the recognition from THAT song, he appeared on the song of someone with actual talent - that is, Action Bronson, and his single Baby Blue. Despite all this fame, he hasn't actually released a full album - well, not technically. His group The Social Experiment released their album "Surf" recently, and it got famous simply because he was on it, but it's technically not a Chance album. He's succeeded because of the personality he paints for his rap persona, and for his unique and clever style of music.

Now, why Chance? After all, the only other rappers in Transformers movies are Tyrese Gibson, who was good, and Marky Mark, who I barely remember, so it's a 50/50 shot. And besides, getting someone like Chance, who's blowing up right now, to voice a robot without physically appearing (unless they get clever with the holo-drivers), hasn't really been attempted before. So, what makes me think he'd be a good Wheelie?

Listen to his single "Juice" and watch the video below.

How can you NOT love this guy? This is the perfect introduction to a fun loving, eccentric personality. He's not trying to start trouble, or bring anyone down - he just wants everyone to get along. He also rhymes.

Holy fuck, this guy isn't just good to play Wheelie - he fucking IS Wheelie. Seriously, he wouldn't even have to rehearse - put him in a mo-cap suit and just tell him he's a robot, then let him go nuts. WHATEVER we get is gonna be awesome for Wheelie. Now, of course, we can't have a Wheelie that's talking about doing acid and smoking weed all the time, but Chance has more than shown he's capable of doing that - Check his short film "Mr. Happy" or hell, give "Acid Rap" a listen. The dude not only has talent, but substance.

Honestly, if none of the other unique casting choices people have thrown out become a reality, this NEEDS to be. For Gods sake, this guy is absolutely PERFECT for Wheelie - he could actually make us LIKE him!

Now, what interpretations/actors would you like to see applied to Wheelie? Or would you rather they just didn't do him at all? Either option is fine, I mean, it IS Wheelie. Honestly, this thread only exists because I think Chance is perfect for the character and I want to get this idea out before he's past his prime, but what do you guys think?

I will never forgive you for making me listen to even a second of that god awful song!

I'm going to assume that the part of you that isn't sure if you are being serious in these threads, suggested him.
Don't get me wrong, I'm G1 all the way.. exclusively G1, and I fucking HATE wheelie, but this guy is not him!

Let's be honest; Wheelie is NOT a character we need in the movies.

I wrote a few paragraphs after this, but deleted them as they just seemed like going over the same old ground.

In summary - Chance = No Chance.

Man some people are old. :rolleyes2

Everything about Chance the Rapper is perfect. Acid Rap is one of my favorite "albums" of all time.

Don't be deterred by his outrageous style, his lyrics are impressively profound sometimes.

Granted, you'd have to be open minded enough to listen to and understand his constant use of puns/wordplay, humor and absurdity, cultural/musical/personal allusions, double-entendres, and outright irony and sarcasm.

You know, actual high-level poetic devices?

As a rapper, Chance has an energetic and unique flow and also an exceptional, albeit unconventional singing voice.

Also, the productions he uses on his songs are unique, engaging, pleasantly harmonically complex, as well as displaying variety in choice of instruments and orchestration.

"Juice" is more ridiculous than anything lyrically, but on a musical level it's still exceptional. Listen to "Cocoa Butter Kisses", "Lost" and "Everybody's Something" for some emotionally profound lyrics.

/rant. Can you tell I'm in an advanced music class? :lol

Anyway, if Chance took the role of a Transformers character, I'd die of nerdjoy.

Stipulation: He'd have to be a Decepticon and have at least one musical number.

Why the hell do we need this thread?

Tom Kenny voiced Wheelie in ROTF and DOTM.

End of subject since this is the "TF movie discussion thread"

Get your money back - advanced music and you think that qualifies?? Jesus.

I'm out before I derail this subject into something it was never intended to be.

Back on topic, never to return...

All iterations of Wheelie suck. He's just a comic relief character that we don't need.

    I'm out.

I kind of would like to see a female VA tackle Wheelie. If we're going back to his roots of the boy scout survivalist.

Tara Strong or Cathy Weseluck are my top picks.

I can tell you got some good ass taste in music XD and while I understand the musical number, why's he gotta be a 'Con?

Yeah but that Wheelie humped a woman's leg. Say what you will about G1 Wheelie, he wasn't a pint sized tibia rapist.

Also, read the intro - this is discussing a new cinematic take on Wheelie.

And yeah, I agree, Wheelie was (and still is) a really shitty character. But this thread is meant to be taken lightly - just a fun little "what-if" thread.

And about disliking Chance... to quote his song "Smoke Again"; take your Chance with this rapper ;)
