The movie is plain and simple. No sex jokes or stupid plotholes. The film itself is mediocre at best. Everything is predictable, but still it is making a huge success both domestic and worlwide. The film has already cashed in 396$ million dollars. More than what AOE managed to accomplished.

I love how every blockbuster that gets made ends up in a thread in the movie forum about how it can be used to improve the TF franchise or how it is a threat to TF franchise.

AoE made $1,104,039,076. Not sure how that's "more than what AOE managed to accomplished (sic)"

TF5 should learn from Pitch Perfect 2.

Not domestically? JW has cashed in $396 million in the domestic box office.

And your sentence before that said "that it's a success both domestic and worlwide (sic)."

TF4 was aimed at the Chinese market. Of course it will make more money that doesn't actually count for money at all because in China, they use bottlecaps for payment.

And now I want to live in China.

Very good. I'm well aware of what you initially said. I'm just not sure you are.

It's going to make more money than AOE. I hope Paramount are aware of this and take som hard decision about leaving Bay out of the mess he created for good.

    They're not going to.

And I love how removing Bay is the solution when it's highly possible that someone worse could be the replacement.

Exactly, I don't understand this thought that transformers movies should follow other blockbusters when they themselves have dominated every summer they come out

So if he comes back and decides to remove all those writers away and use Krueger again, you think it would be great?

I can't say until I've seen it. I've enjoyed all four movies so far.

But I also realize what they are, and what they're not trying to be. Like a G1 rehash, or Jurassic World, for example.

But what makes you think Bay would do anything different with the fifth?

Wasn't Jurassic World also predictable? Mediocre at best?

It scores quite decent in RT. 71% last time I checked. NONE of those TF movies ever got over 60 as I can recall. So you have a box office success and good critic reception.

I don't put too much stock in Rotten Tomatoes, or what any "critic" says, really. I make my own mind up upon reviewing any media myself.

Well, if it means more dinosaurs and Dinobots I'm all for it. I wantto see a stegobot, a brachiobot, an ankylobot and a mastodon-bot (though technically that's not a dinosaur).

It's funny because JW and the Transformers movies both have the same problem; everything that got previsualized made it into the final cut. Only Treverow felt the need to work it into the story (in forced, forced ways), and Bay just doesn't.

    :lol

But you've still pointed out the central flaw in the whole "Every blockbuster gets compared to Transformers!" argument; only the big a sci-fi actioners do.

Also JW made half of AoE's total gross in it's first week. Because the JP franchise is popular and beloved, not derided.
