It does seem like there should be all sorts of places to bury an ancient space craft. Paleontologist and archeologist are always digging up something new because we haven't discovered everything ever buried. It's easy to imagine some remote and hard to get to location where a ship could be hidden just under the surface.

I also agree on the military aspect. I don't mind the humans being brave but I don't like the feeling that humans could take out the Decepticons without the Autobots just by throwing a few more rounds at the Decepticons. I'd like to have that feeling that the Autobots are the only thing that can save us from the bad guys.

I'm afraid that the reboot will go totally G1 on the design. I love the current designs, but at the same time I can understand why some hate it. However, if they just go completeyly G1 on us, not only will the designs look unrealistic, but they'd be blocky, unappealing, and the new generation of fans would probably dislike them, resulting in less toy sells.

Also, as said before, I hope Optimus doesn't go totally G1 in his character. I think the OP we get now is the most realistic, and best interpretation yet. He shows compassion and is willing to put his life on the line for the humans, but at the same tim is a battle hardened warrior who, when the time is right, has a no bullshit mentality. I don't want a OP who spares his Decepticons at every turn, especially knowing that these guys are evil and will probably try to stab 'em in the back the second they get a chance to (unless they truly plead for mercy).

I really doubt it will be 100% pure G1.

Look at just about any other big movie out there based on something like comic books or cartoons. Spiderman had a look that people recognized as being Spiderman, but his Spidey Suit was changed up in little ways for something that would look good on film. Comic book geeks knew it was Thor before anyone mentions his name but movie Thor and movie Loki had their costumes tweaked into something that was going to look nicer in live action.

So I think they are going to borrow a page out of the Iron Man book. The basic shapes and colors would be there for people to instantly know who it is but up close I think they are going to be able to put in all the tiny little parts to say super complicated super advanced like they did with the Iron Man armor. It's possible to do sleek in the pulled back shot while still doing lots of parts when it's zoomed in.

I'm also not sure that going G1 is going to mean that the toy sells will tank. Generations style figures continue to move well even though Hasbro has been doing the figures for many years now. I don't think it's just G1 geezers buying up those "blocky" classic look figures. Movie toys on the other hand aren't flying off the shelves like the very first movie line so I wonder if that ship hasn't sort of sailed.

As to Prime I'm ready for a Prime that has a hero code beyond just I'm a hero because I think humans have the potential to be good and we don't need to do something horrible to the Earth. Dark, gritty, grim, beaten down heroes feels so over done at this point. Maybe it's hokey and corny but I long for the days when characters where the heroic ideal instead of some variation of the Punisher. I want escapism and a reason to smile not hey movie worlds are as crappy as the real world.

I think understand what you're saying. If I'm correct, you want an Optimus who shows some mercy to the Cons and doesn't resort to murder as a first option, and only uses it as a last resort.

Yea I don't think it should be that Prime never ever kills a villain. Sometimes great stories have been made out of the death of a villain so you don't want to take that off the table. But I think it would be better as a last resort sort of thing where all his other options are gone and the only way to achieve the greater good is to kill the villain.

I think they should take some cues from IDW right now when it comes to design. They resemble the G1 designs to be sure but they also don't resemble blocks since they have a form of sleekness and upgrades that make them feel a little alien and advanced and if the reboot movies do something like that I'll be happy.

As for Optimus I think the best route they can take would be if they did something similar like Optimus Primal where he's the guy with high moral grounds and is a father figure yet has his share of flaws and issues to help make him a little more interesting and not one note.

I like a Prime that kills, but as most are saying... Only if he has to. And I do think that most of the scenarios in the current movies could have been written in a way of making it a last resort.

Optimus should kill. He's a hero, he's a father figure, and he stands up for what's right, but he's a soldier, who fights for those ideals. He's not just a model citizen, like Superman. He's Captain America but 30 foot tall and metal.

It's not the killing. It's the spirit behind the character's behavior.

And I like my Prime complete at the story's start, a member of an ensemble. But if you're gonna make him the main character, it's probably best to go the Beast Wars/Animated route and have him growing into that persona instead of already being there.

I don't want to see a uninteresting weakened Galvatron. He's suppose to be Optimus arch enemy right?
