Let's say RotF Ravage was a species of mechanimal, rather than just a one-off. It gives an excuse for repaints, but also allows him to branch out and be found elsewhere in the universe. Even outside of Bayformers.

What would you call this species? The best I've got is Werecat, but that sucks and I'd like to hear other ideas. Other ideas I've had are Ancipitis-Exsul which roughly translated into Deadly Wanderer, or Gypsy Danger.

The same thought could be applied for Lazerbeak and Scorponok. I'd love to hear some ideas.

Wouldn't be surprised if he along with Laser Beak and Scorponok are part of the Cybertronian wild life/fellow species that are among Cybertronian Society. Sort of like in RID15 come to think of it. Speaking of RID15 it would be awesome to see a Chompazoid in the movies especially if it's Underbite.

Im sure the driller bot would fit into that catagory aswell.

edit: also could Lockdown's wolf dogs fit into beast wars somehow? They are techno organic after all.

Considering that a lot of the Decepticons in the RID cartoon are of species, you could say Ravage and Laserbeak are species of their own.

To answer this thread, Ravage is a beast transformer. Other examples are the Dinobots, Laserbeak, Scorponok and those dog like creatures on Lockdown's ship.

With all the Decepticons in RID of their own species I like to think of Ravage, Laserbeak, Scroponok, The Driller and the Cyber wolves as different species.

Don't ask me for names though :p

    Feces.
(based on how Soundwave ejected him onto Earth in the film)

    :lolol

    Seriously, just a sub-species or pre-humanoid form.

It's possible, all movie-verse Cybertronians were animal-like before self-evolving into the more efficient "2 legs and 2 arms" format.

I'm kinda saying that because most Decepticons on-screen kept snarling and growling...or at the very least sputter out a word or two like the Predator.

I'm going with that or the writers didn't want too many Cybertronians talking in the movie.

The idea of cybertronian wildlife is very interesting. Like the slugs in WFC, it adds character to the nature of Cybertron as more than just cold, metal planet but more like a techno-organic one that's capable of harboring diverse groups of Transformers. I hope that's something they explore if they do go through with the Transformers One prequel and really wow us with something we've never envisioned before.
