Oooo that's a good choice since the writing for Daredevil from what I'm hearing is good.

He's an excellent writer, having worked on the Daredevil and Spartacus series.

    Congratulations Mr DeKnight!

They're really getting some good talent on the writer side of things.

Daredevil was fantastic. All of these good, proven writers being drafted into the creative team for the live-action Transformers films just feels... odd. Like I have a mixture of justified cynicism and hesitant optimism.

Only the most cautious optimism can be mustered. In theory, this could be good.

    Then again,

    *Michael Bay reads script*
"Words, words, words, fucking words. Who the fuck is this Tek-night writer? Actually FUCK it. Tell the broad with the tits to push them up and out before she runs from the explosion. Actually, don't mention the explosion, I want her to look surprised...annnnndddd ACTION. "

Except Bay is not like that if he was Optimus's arc in AOE would've never made it past the first treatment he would've never bothered developing cade and Tessa or doing sentinels betrayal or showing the fall out from Chicago or Ratchets death and the Autobots reaction I get tired of saying this really tired but for the last time the final battle is not the only part of the movie for both of the last two there was about 20 to 15 minutes of action before the final battle if that's the case what was the rest i'm not going to bother naming scenes i've already done it, each movie also only has about two scenes of sex appeal as well Tessa's was played entirely as a joke so stop posting crap like that when it can be factually proven as not true, as for the writer wow this is one hell of team.

It's almost laughable about what is happening right now with the Transformers.

All this talent coming together for movies and fashion and yet Hasbro continues to dictate extreme cost cuting measures on the toys themselves.

Smaller figures. Less paint apps. Removal of any and all metal screws and pins and slap on clip on parts everywhere, friction joints in place of metal pins and ball joints, more and more hideous looking clip on wheels, cheaper plastic, as much hollowed out parts as possible, and removal of or badly functioning ratchet joints. Sad.

But at least we might get a good movie and a t-shirt. Facepalm.

It's really funny how you can criticize others for their blanket, unrealistic generalizations and criticisms but then say this.

Also I seriously doubt Bay will be directing every single one. They're gonna have to bring another director on if they're as serious about this TFCU as they seem to be with the writers.

Probably because unlike plastic, talent isn't a finite resource. I mean, one day, there will be no plastic left. I don't think the same will happen to writers unless humanity itself ceases to exist.

Like you just compared two totally not-comparable things. How does... how does that even come together? How does that happen?

Which is why they're all bigger than they were last year I guess. And weigh more than they have in years. (Classics Mirage: 2.25 ounces - CWDragstrip: 3.25, Universe Sunstreaker: 3.40 - CW Breakdown: 3.70, Universe Prowl: 3.30 - CW Deadend: 3.70, and so-on)

This is one of the most amusing comparisons i've ever read. Really?

On topic: Adding DeKnight is great, i'm having more and more hope that something good will come from this roundtable.

I'm starting to get a too many cooks vibe from this "writer think tank".

Sure, individually a lot of these writers have come up with some great stuff. But at the same time it's impossible that they are ALL going to be able to mesh their styles into something that doesn't resemble a "by committee" product.

I figure what will probably likely happen is that these 12 scripts that are being worked on are going to get taken apart and cherry-picked for specific "parts" that somebody thinks might fit or could be made to fit together, then they'll narrow it down to one or two writers who will take all those chosen "parts" and re-write them into a single script, then whiz on--er, polish it to the studio's quote-unquote "liking". Then they'll probably commission a few more scripts to repeat the process and include whatever they didn't use in the first go into the mix of stuff to pick and choose from, and so on and so on. That's not an unheard-of practice in screenwriting.
