We have pretty much every reason in the world to believe that any Autobot from the first 3 films who wasn't in the 4th is dead. Hunted by C.I.A. deathsquads AND Lockdown AND not meeting up with Bumblebee OR answering the open call Optimus placed to summon all Autobots? Come on now.

Conversely, we have no reason whatsoever to believe that any human from the first 3 films who wasn't in the 4th isn't alive and well. N.E.S.T. was disbanded. Sam & Carly retired to a quiet life in the suburbs. Simmons is in love AND jail, lol.

And, yes, Attinger was clearly willing to kill nobodies in the middle of nowhere to hunt the Autobots.

But decorated war heroes? Celebrities? Soldiers?

People who barely even knew wtf the Autobots were up to before Cemetary Wind even got started?!?

I mean, enjoy ur fanfic, but it just doesn't make any sense.

    Sorry.

    :p

That's if no humans stood up for the Autobots. If I were a betting man, I'd say that at least Sam and Carly and Lennox and Epps stood up to Cemetery Wind. Odds are good that Simmons did so as well. In that case, they aren't celebrities, decorated war heroes, or soldiers in Attinger's mind, they're traitors. He's already running a rogue black-ops group, a literal death squad. What's to stop him?

Besides, it's not like he has to send Savoy in to shoot them all - all it takes are a few car accidents for the civilians, a bit of planted evidence to make a murder look like a suicide for Simmons, and giving Lennox and Epps's teams bad intel in a firefight that leads to their deaths. If Attinger did it quietly, then the public would never know.

Of course, this is all theorizing, with very little in canon to prove it one way or another.

Simmons sort of was a celebrity in DOTM thanks to his book. Him being murdered would raise a few eyebrows.

They could have made it look like a suicide or an accident.

    Bump.

William Lennox is obviously alive because he's returning for TF5. However, we don't have any explanation for Sam's absence and what happened to him after the third movie. However... In an interview, one of the screen writers of the fourth movie was asked about this, and here's what was asked and answered:

CraveOnline: So you’re shifting gears in this film. You’ve got new human characters. But you never actually mention in the film, maybe in the script I don’t know, what happened to Sam. Was there a line of dialogue that got cut where you addressed that?

Ehren Kruger: I don’t think it ever made the script. I think we talked about at one point referring to the “Witwicky Incident,” but it never made it, yes.

CraveOnline: Do you have any ideas about what he’s doing right now? Because he seemed really eager to be part of the Autobot experience in the previous film, so I wonder how he feels about all this.

Ehren Kruger: Well, the reason we ended up not wanting to talk about that too much was that we liked the idea of venturing into this franchise from the perspective of humans on the outside, like the audience, that have just sort of watched these events unfold through the news and through television, and who didn’t know any of the characters or experience the first three things. So they’re coming into this with entirely fresh eyes, without an awareness of things that went on in the previous three films, and well, we liked the purity of that. So we didn’t want [get hung up] with the characters who had been in the previous three.

Source - Transformers: Age of Extinction: Ehren Kruger Interview

They have no scenario for Sam's fate, although one of the screen writers did say at one point they talked about the "Witwicky Incident", it never made it in the script. So no we don't have any official explanation for Sam's fate in these movies until someone who works on them or is involved decides to address his fate in some tie in material such as a Comic, Novel or Movie. At this point, we don't have an answer that is remotely official, only speculation, so our only choice is to either wait and see if they will actually answer it (or blatantly ignore it and meet a new low that breaks the record with the horrible stuff they've already done), or speculate.

I personally believe Sam was assassinated by Cemetery Wind, the organisation that secretly hunts down the Autobots (they tricked the Gorverment into thinking they only hunted down Decepticons). First of all, we need to consider the fact that Sam has worked closely with the Autobots for a very long time, especially Bumblebee. He has killed Megatron in the first movie and revived Optimus Prime in the second movie. These are two of the most significant contributions he has made to the Autobots. Second of all, Sam is a Human who knows so much about the Autobots that he would absolutely try to defend and support them from an organisation that would try to hunt the Autobots. Harold Attinger (the man who leads Cemetery Wind) would definitely order Sam to be killed so that no one would stop the Autobots from getting hunted. We've seen Cemetery Wind show no hesitation in killing Humans who try to defend the Autobots, Harold Attinger made it very clear to Cade Yeager that there are no good Aliens or bad Aliens, it's just the Humans and them. It's obvious that Autobot sympathizers would also be hunted, especially someone as significant as Sam. But that's just my speculation.

We should have a new forms rule where after a year of inactivity of a thread, it should be locked or anyone bumping them to troll should be banned.

My assumption is that they are in deep hiding, somewhere in the world.

    That... what?

Preeeetty sure it's a reference to the fact that Sam basically just blabbered "no" over and over again whenever he was in danger in the movies.
