They're getting chased, and decide to stand in an open elevator that's clearly not working for no apparent reason and ad-lib some dialog, whilst simultaneously confirming that all Chinese people definitely know Kung fu.
Maaaaan, I've had an entire, interconnected series of essays ready-to-go since Day One to explain why you guys are all SO WRONG about wanting those scenes cut. Can't WAIT to find the time to hash it all out and get down to business! Alas, I'm still CRAZY busy and pretty much living on the road. All in good time!
I though the Romeo and Juliet scene showed that they weren't just stupid kids and that they were in a very stabel relationship showing that Cade really couldn't do jack shit about it because it was really real thing .
I'd like a scene of all the past Autobots being killed, just so people finally get the message. I'd cut out a lot of the teen romance bullshit.
Put in/back in: Whatever the plan was for Rollbar since the first sight of him clearly showed the car as being driverless. BB and Tessa dancing. Take out: The motorcycle chase. Timing wise (and I've watched the last half at least half a dozen times now) it seems to be the part that throws everything off the most. Cut down on the Joshua/Bai ling chase majorly would help the end's sense of being too long. I wouldn't say take it out but the magnet scene could use a healthy amount of judicial cutting. Plus it works against Lockdown's up-until-that-point perfect professionalism. I can't picture someone like Lockdown using something so unweildly in that way. Other than that, I'm fine with the movie as is. It seems like once they get to China is where things get a little off the rails compared to the rest of the movie which is markedly more restrained (imo) so that's where I'd make my cuts. AoE is definetly the one I least fast forward through tho'.
Do people still really believe that was the case? As stupid an idea as it was to make it look like it was driverless Transformer when it first shows up (and goodness knows why Shane would be hiding), there's no way that they would first film it with the genuine intent of it being a robot character and then change their minds and suddenly have Shane driving it part way through filming. He was cast, and his part written well before filming started. It's also quite telling that when the vehicles for the movie were revealed, the five Autobots were labelled as such even if they weren't named, but the Sonic wasn't, plus when the figure (which wasn't even an original mould) was first listed it was simply named 'Rally Car', so it hadn't even been given a placeholder name from the script. But I digress.....
No way they'd fully film a very expensive scene of CGI and cut it either. Oh wait BB dancing did show up in the movie. I just said Rollbar because that's what the toy ended up being. So to correct: I wish they'd left in whatever they were planning to do with the rally car since, as I said, the car was clearly driverless in the movie and reports had Shane possibly driving an autobot (tho' that was back when people were kicking around Shane being a Nascar driver). As far as "no way they'd change their minds mid-movie" goes, have you not kept track of how the last four flicks have been made? lol.
Something else I really wish they'd kept in the movie was the longer version of the scene where Joyce chews out undercover Cade for bringing Bumblebee in for scanning. He had more dialogue expanding upon the idea of them making poetry because they're poets, in which he called Stinger a Shakespearean sonnet and 'Bee a dirty limerick, lol. I thought that was fantastic and would have completed the scene perfectly, damnit. Plus, it's kinda true considering how much 'Bee likes to watch kids hook-up, piss on guys, and since he was about a minute away from dropping his first F-bomb! Haha.
Everyone complaining about transformium. Listen I get the name is really stupid but honestly, i don't really understand why people hated the HUMAN robots doing it. They aren't real cybertronians and what better way to show it then have them transform differently. And besides when tf5 eventually comes around Galvatron will be the only one with that ability. The only real reason I dislike their transformation is because it detracts from allowing to show autobot transformations. If the Transformation's had been evenly distributed, I wouldn't really mind it at all. Anyway back to scenes that should have been removed, anything including Shane and Tessa, they were the worst, also cut down on the Lockdown magnet scene. Things to add, probably just a better character development for the dinobots and Galvatron. And to show more real cybertronian transformations.
Add: Chevy Sonic as a Transformer, Bumblebee and Leadfoot being chased by Cemetery Wind, more Grimlock v Optimus Remove: Bike chase, elevator scene, Lockdown's death
Added: Dialogue between Optimus and Grimlock before their battle. Grimlock and Slug are shown battling along side Autobots in robot mode after the stampede. Optimus takes the Nightship along with Hound to space Dinobots take charge while Optimus is gone, instead of just wandering off. Removed: Romeo and Juliette law scene.
Remove Shane and Darcy entirely. Remove all the scenes in the closed down movie theater that isn't Cade finding Optimus Prime, the interview with Attinger on his methods, the Romeo and Juliet scene, the personal assistants scene, the elevator scene, and the Magnet chase scene. Add the dancing scene from the trailers and more scenes that show the Autobots gradually coming to see each other as comrades. Also, add an Optimus Prime vs Galvatron before the final fight with Lockdown with more dialogue.
