It's so predictable the term "Oscar bait" was invented for films that follow a formula for getting a nomination.

 

The Oscars are supposed to be about BEST. They are NOT supposed to be a popularity contest.

Now the reality is that the Academy is a bunch of idiots, so it's all meaningless anyway, but that's the intent.

 

I take it you've never seen other movies.

 

I take it you've never encountered sarcasm.

 

No Babe was NOMINATED for best picture. No one person can determine what picture gets that award since it's determined by voting by all members of the Academy of Motion Pictures. And seeing how Casino, Heat, Zodiac didn't even make the cut and that Babe was against Forrest Gump, it would be delusional to suggest it had a snowball's chance in hell of winning. Anyone who told you otherwise was messing with you.

That's the sound of people side-eying you, accepting you can have an opinion no matter how crazy it is, and just ignoring you. You're clearly having fun, why should we spoil that?

 

He posts how much he loves the movies often with this vigor, I don't think it's sarcasm.

 

The thought of a current TF movie getting nominated for anything beyond a raspberry is quite funny (and sad).

 

Oh well can't knock a guy down for liking something...

 

AOE didn't receive Oscars because Lockdown hid them in the night ship.

 

It pretty much deserves it but I'm waiting for the academy award winning Transformers movie.
