Somewhat inspired by TheSoundwave's thread 'Who would enjoy a Post-Apocalyptic Transformers film', but taking a slightly different approach.

Anyhow, given the popularity of The Hobbit and Game of Thrones, could anyone see a Transformers movie taking a fantasy approach? Dragon alt modes, sorcery, medieval castles, etc;

What do you guys think?

I agree. Magic has never been a part of Transformers and never should be.

As a theme, no. Some Transformers utilizing ancient Cybertronian sorcery as their advantage would be interesting to see. There are already several instances of magical devices within the Transformers mythos, so. And we've had dragon alt-mode Transformers before, so, yeah.

 

It would be a little different, that's for sure. It could be pretty cool though. We've already seen that The Fallen has magic in the movie universe, as well as other magic in the franchise. I love the Lord of the Rings movies, so I think it would be pretty cool.

 

well, if it were set in cybertrons early age where that stuff was more relevant, sire i guess so. most likely during the time of the 13. IDW has aslo recently shown some plots that are close to or reminiscent of that, like galvatrons flash backs to his time in the age of the 13.

 

As a theme, I wouldn't like. I like ancient artifacts giving them powers though.

Not for me, no. I'm very much of the opinion that any and all mystical items in the Transformers universe are products of an extremely advanced but forgotten or borrowed technology as per Arthur C Clarke, rather than actual 'magic'

I mean once you show robot heaven, anything is possible. We already have some swords too.

 

Well there are already a lot of Transformers who can be considered super robots so I wouldn't mind socery. I'd also like to see more subtle sorcery like Matrix
