AOE might be the best of a bad bunch of movies. That doesn't say much however.

Really? No, really? Come on, really? I'm a Transformer fan, have been since '84, and even I can't seriously compare these two films on any level beyond CGI. To say that TF4...or any TF movie deserves to be uttered in the same sentence as Cap 2 is f'n ridiculous. It's like trying to draw comparrisons between 'Mobsters' (piece of shit 1991 film with Christian Slater) and 'The Godfather'. Granted, as great as Cap 2 was, it wasn't 'The Godfather', but it's still a decent comparrison as TF4 really wasn't as good as Mobsters. I'm pretty sure they used crayons to write the TF4 script.

Seriously, TF4 isn't fit to carry Cap 2's jock.

What script? I would have love it if any TF movie was even as good as the Norton Hulk one.

I wasn't trying to shut you up.

The point is, you say 'I don't understand', it's not that you don't understand, it's that you refuse to accept that people have different opinions/outlooks about these movies and characters than you do.

And while I do agree that some opinions can push the limits of being right or wrong, in this case, they don't. Your interpretation of it all is yours, no one else's.

All I can really say is, I eat popcorn watching both?

What the fuck? Are you saying the site should be shut down due to no-one sharing your opinion?

True. Best example: If someone says "I don't think Hitler was THAT bad, I don't like jews either". You cannot say that his opinion is OK, it's plainly wrong.

And this is the case with the Transformers movies in general. People may like them. But they are not good. Never. I can get enjoyment out of watching it. But still they are bad. But I can also watch Troma movies and get entertainment. But still they are bad. Even though, some Troma movies were better than Transformers, because they are intentionally that way.

Is this even a real question? Cap 2 was a lot better with everything. Better story, better characters, better ending, better acting etc. Transformers 4 is cool, but nothing in comparison to cap 2.

Yeah I dont think you can compare the 2 at all. Both were visual effects masterpieces and all that eye candy stuff, but Cap was an actual really good movie. Aoe (like all the TF movies) was far from a great movie, even if it was still fun to watch.
Its like comparing the Avengers movie to a 1980s TMNT cartoon episode.

    Pretty Much.

They have good production values and some great artists and voice actors on board but the direction and script is where the faults lie.

One film was 2 hours and 45 minutes the other was 2 hours and 16 minutes.

I think we know who the winner is.

Taking pleasure in the harm of others is wrong. It remains that way, regardless of how we attempt to justify/rationalize the characters (and ourselves, for doing the same vicariously) out of any moral obligations or responsibility.

Having someone on the floor, weaponless, defenseless, and begging for mercy, and then shooting them in the back of the head, is wrong. Maybe it could be done for a good reason, but for a movie to relish in it, and for it's audience to pretend that it doesn't because they don't want to have to deal with the implications of them enjoying something callous and potentially irresponsible is just... Well irresponsible.

... How did you even get that? Like, I'm trying to find a way, and I just can't... I know the time we put into reading comprehension on the Internet is pretty lax, but still...

No, no, not at all. Optimus really wanted it to be a fair one on one fight between them and the others helping would be "cheating". If Black Widow came to help Captain America during his throw-down with Batroc, I guarantee you Steve would've told her to not join the fight because it was his fight.

Well it sure blows my mind when people say that when there have been hundreds upon hundreds if not thousands of extremely horrendous movies out there.

Right but Steve could as shown easily defeat Batroc. Prime on the other hand couldn't easily defeat Lockdown. And the tone his voice has when he says it is almost one of anger and aggression. Besides Optimus had already lost so what was the point in him yelling for the fight to continue. And if he was caring about a fair fight then why in the end did he end up backstabbing Lockdown. I get it was to save Cade but Optimus could have easily just tackled him if he wanted a "fair fight."

Yea, in real life, most of the time.

But since I was taught at a very young age that movies ≠ real life, it doesn't bother me. We aren't watching a documentary.

It doesn't bother me either. Not all that much. But pretending that the characters and filmmakers are doing something more to ignore any negative connotations that enjoying it might have on you? I've got issues with that.
