I mean when you think about it, it could make sense. I mean what would drive Optimus's teacher and mentor, the one who taught Optimus that Freedom was everyone's right, suddenly decide to turn on everything he knew and back stab Optimus? (inbeforesomeonesayslazywriting)

I think somehow Sentinel knew the Creators were up to something big, like the destruction of the Transformer species or something like that. So I guess he figured out the only way to ensure they're survival was to make a deal with the Decepticons to build an army or collect resources on Earth in order to build an army to Combat them or at least have a fighting chance against the creators. And he didn't tell Optimus this in the first place because he knew Optimus wouldn't allow it, because he taught him too well.

Now this doesn't really make the excuse for what he did in DOTM, but it could give him a understandable motivation for why he did it.

 

I like the idea but how could he find out about them.

 

Well the Creators must have left something behind deep in Cybertron when they we're making it that Sentinel somehow found, like a Journal...

You know, a Journal.

 

Sentinel could not know. Because the story of Age of Exctinction was not even planned when they made DOTM. They just make something up, when they start the next movie. Any continuity is merely coincidence.

 

Along with The Fallen and Megatron were infected by the Creators to do evil deeds to destroy Cybertron from within?

Why destroy your creation when you can get someone else to do it for you?

Unless you think the writers did it to homage G1 ep's "Microbots"....Megatron's evil brain impulses?

 

Well I don't know about the creators doing that on purpose.

I mean didn't ROTF had those little bugs too? Maybe Meg's just coded his memories on a few and put them in his brain, just in case.
Or something like that.

Well, my post was a "build on" from your idea.

Besides, in real life, people spay and neuter their cats and dogs to control the population. If the Creators didn't like Cybertronians expanding beyond their intended goal, how else would they do it without actually going to Cybertron and launching a few space nukes?

After all, they did send a Cybertronian-like creation in the form of Lockdown to "clean up". If they wanted to show themselves and do it themselves, it would probably be a half-organic half machine creature. All we saw was a hand so far in AoE.

Now who knows how many other "Cybertron" type experiments they did. I'm sure they've gotten pretty good at terminating an experiment over the eons.

Not a bad idea. BUT, Sentinels motivation for the things he did was already clearly stated IN the film. He was motivated by the same thing that motivated Megatron and Optimus, ultimately.... Saving Cybertron. His methods were wrong and misguided, but his motivation was clear nonetheless.

 

Umm... Everybody knew that they had Creators. Optimus and Hound practically said it. Organic planets becoming resource worlds for Transformium.

What they don't know is the details as most of the records went down with the fall of Cybertronian civilization.

When Autobot civilization arose the population was woefully under educated about their history.

The Allspark had the entire TF history in it.

From what we get from Sam's rant is that Sentinel is an explorer and a scientist. This probably spared him from being killed in the purge of the Prime line.

Optimus is implied to be of the Knight Tmenos crew. My guess the Knights saved him from the purge and made him one of their own.

Sentinel took Optimus in and taught him about his heritage.

Creators does not come into Sentinel's mind as to him the Primes were walking gods.

If we go by Lockdown's rant of cleaning up the Autobot-Decepticon war mess then the Creators did not become a threat until after the Allspark was chucked out of Cybertron.

Lockdown's main priority it seems besides Optimus are the Knights which Optimus called legendary warriors. Lockdown called them rebel scum.

Autobots and Decepticons they are just clean up. The real prize are the Primes and ancient TFs like the Knights and Seekers. Cause the Creators had a grudge against those that were responsible for the rebellion.

Slug had an Autobot symbol so I guess the Knights were among the first Autobots.

The Fallen hid on the Nemesis for fear of a Prime killing him... But is that his only fear?

The Fallen had a irrational hate for Humans or organics. My guess upon discovery Earth was also a resource world of the Creators he wanted to deny them Earth by destroying the Sun.

The other Primes sworn to not harm life bearing worlds is that they do not want to be like the Creators.

 

Ok they dont want worlds mixing.....lockdown was sent by them.....sentinel brought two far off worlds within touching distance....but he only arrives looking for optimus...not sentinels body also as confirmation of a dead prime......also what did he mean when he said to savoy 'i trust your species is ready ' not sure what he implies there

They were (the bugs) in DOTM, Megatron even squishes one in the Africa scene. I remember they were described as healing microbots slowly repairing his damaged head in some promo stuff.
