What many people here seem to be unaware of is that the Dinobots were originally slated for TF5, to have a large role. Their debut was pushed up a movie to build more hype. So unless they rewrite everything they have planned for what comes next, they will reappear, have their origins explained, and have a much larger role.

yeah, with the creators introduced, i'd imagine that the next movie would have at least a little to do with them, and i would imagine that the dinobots would be included in that story arc.

I actually think that's the reason we don't learn much about the origin of the Dinobots in AOE. I suspect their origins are heavily involved with the story of the Creators, and they wanted to keep the Creators somewhat mysterious in this one.

No disrespect, but considering how difficult it is for the production team to get through one movie's plot, I simply cannot believe they've already broken the story for TF5.

But, see, problem is....they have NOTHING planned as of now. Nothing. Zip. Nadda. They had them in TF4 to pretty much say "fuck it, gotta make this epic as possible guys" because Kruger is a fucking terrible writer who shouldn't even be giving the privilege of writing this franchise, or any franchise for that matter, because, as he stated himself now, he "makes it up as he goes along".

The Dinobots were able to get their alt modes because they arrived on earth when dinosaurs were still alive

I think people are jumping to conclusions too easily here. The truth is we don't know what they have and don't have planned for TF 5. We don't know if Bay or Kruger are returning or not. To say that they have everything detailed already or that they have nothing planned at all is speculation. I would guess the truth is somewhere in between.

Having said that I remember reading right after AOE came out that Paramount did want to see more of the Dinobots in TF 5, and when Bay was asked about TF 5 in an interview panel he mentioned the alien hand in the opening sequence of AOE as something that could be explored further. Make what you will of that.

They barely even turn into Dinosaurs. They look more like Chinese dragons. As for where the heck they got those modes...fail, lol!

That is Bay's philosophy on filmmaking. "The shot is paramount to everything else." Unfortunately, "everything else" includes, yes, logic, but more importantly getting across the information and creating any sense of flow.

In terms of storytelling, Bay is often treated like a Stephen King, but he's definitely more of a Stephanie Meyer. Just uninterrupted nonsense flowing out of the most juvenile mindset imaginable.

Not really, Grimlock looks like a combat modified T.rex with Horns, Slag looks like a Hell Triceratops with Kibble horns and Strafe resembles a two headed pterosaur and Scorn resembles a three spined Spinosaurid.

As a Dinosaur and Animal enthusiast forum from carnivora and etc. goer, I could tell who is who and what is what as well as everyone else.

These are mockery attacks, I resent attitudes like these if you please. Because you are not really insulting the movie, but insulting yourself and your intelligence by roleplaying exaggerated criticism goggles too and infecting other people who read this by having them arbitrarily assuming "hey this is funny, he's mocking the movie, he's cool! we should learn from his post motif and do in his manner". They may be based on real dinosaurs, but they've definitely been inspired by Chinese dragons as well. To me, Swoop/Strafe is pretty much a straight up dragon, I'm barely even seeing a pterodactyl.

And who says they're exaggerated mockery attacks? I can have my own opinion, and I think that the Dinobots fail.

That's why they failed to hit high on the box office, too bad they were illustrated after Chinese Dragons statues and artifacts, that was a really bad fail idea and a fail one at best. Oh and they barely, BARELY look like Dinosaurs but instead they look like Dragons who are by the way based on Ancient Culture's fossil finds anyway.... even though Chinese Dragons are more serpentine in art forms and all that was captured was the monstrous reptilian illustration style you're describing and they were based on viably and physiologically accurate iconic dinosaurs. "BARELY"

    EDIT

Um, no, Strafe is a straight up Pterosaur, Strafe is based on a Quetzacoatlus with a two tailed and two headed gimmick. Also the proportions of the creature is primarily Pterosaurian; including the shape of the wing tip, the short non-archosaurian legs and the anatomy of the arm in the concept art which does not match the majority of typical modernistic portrayals of fantasy dragons which are portrayed either as Serpentine Lizards or Quadrupedal Reptiles with Theropod like Bodies and Leg physiology and Torsos as much as Strafe resembles a re-imagined mutant Pterosaur that at least maintains the body build of a real Pterosaur. Don't pursue to use "Chinese Dragons" as your wacky attempt at making derogatory criticism like you're making because it's dull. This goes also to G1-Critics who I've seen make such a statement similar to yours. I'm just addressing your wacky attempts at expressing your thoughts on it's "fail" caring little about your self-defense of opinion.

You guys no that Bay was pressured by the studios to force the dinobots into the film. That's why they felt "rushed" and "unfinished".He wanted to save them for TF5.

This has also been my understanding of them.

I know it's a really far-fetched idea, but I just kind of assumed that the Creators took some of the Transformium-coated Dinosaurs that they killed & modified them into Transformers. I mean, they were made out of the very stuff that Transformers are made of, so it shouldn't have been hard to do that.

Plus, KSI did that with all of their KSI Bots, and they had the challenge of more or less re-engineering Bumblebee without anything to go off of besides a bit of info on him.

Yeah, let's alos consider that most TF robot modes themselves are very humanoid, and they didn't scan humans to get them...

Probably this, or the Creators like to create Transformers based on a planet they killed as some sick sort of remembrance.

For those familiar with Mass Effect, kind of like how
when the Reapers destroy an entire species, they create one new Reaper based on that species.
