Yeah, it kinda is. Maybe not exclusively, but a lot of signs point to a fish inclusive diet. Doesn't make it any less cool.

It's either yes or no, so it's still a theory.

And if true, Trex was actually an overgrown chicken.

I think the Dinos were not really needed for the final battle, they could have just given Hound some more ammo, the rate he was cutting through the neo-cons. But they did look cool and I'm glad they were in. Hope they have a more important role in TF5.

    Exactly lol.

The Dinobots, or more specifically Grimlock could have easily taken down Lockdown on his own while Optimus....laughs?

The Dinobots should have been given some lines in Cybertronian amongst themselves when Optimus was speaking.
The concept art depicting Slug taking out the KSI drones should've been used.

I like to think that the scene where Grimlock roars and challenges Prime its like if he was saying: ME GRIMLOCK KING, I CHALLENGE YOU PUNY PRIME!
He didn't, well, they, need to talk so that we could have understand them, for example, when your dog is around you and stares at you he probably is hungry. :)
At least thats my point of view. :D

I showed the movie to people who didn't know anything about transformers and they loved the dinobots.

    They existed.

Hopefully TF5 does something with them, maybe they learn how to speak.

I felt the same as I did when Venom was shoehorned into Spider-Man 3. A bit dissapointed. They coulda showed their robot forms a little more and I'd of been a little happier. The inclusion of them didn't make sense within the story really.

Having said that, I'm still glad they were in there, I guess.

while heavier, a spinosaur is not in the same league as a tyrannosaur in terms of raw physicality. Spinosaurus is very big but for it's size, not overly so. For it's size, Tyrannosaurus is massively overly engineered. Even it's arms were relatively some of the strongest among theropods. Probably has to do with the activity requirments. Spinosaurus is an highly specialiased animal, occupying a top tier position on a limited food web, Tyrannosaurus was the top tier animal of the entire food web.

Well...to a point. The grizzly comparison is actually not entirely acurate because the majority of a grizzly's diet is either plants or carrion. While there's evidence spinosaurs did eat dinosaurs, they are in no way generalisists. Isotopes suggest an overabundance of fish in their diet, plus they are built completely differently from known generalist carnivores like the allosaurs, and even more so than the hyperpredators like Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus. The fact Spinosaurus shared its environment with a hyperpredator (Carcharodontosaurus) strongly suggests niche partitioning. Unable to directly compete, animals either die out, migrate or adapt to a secondary food source. Evidence strongly lends itself to the last option in several spinosaurs.

We've found stomach contacts and used isotope testing, as well as tooth marks on fish fossils. It is a verifiable fact spinosaurs ate more fish than any other theropod. Very much beyond theory.

And technically, ALL theropods are over grown chickens, including spinosaurs.

On topic: The dinos are just Devastator and Shockwave again. They look better than either, but...it was expected. It's a shame considering at least half an hour of the movie has nothing of note in it that could have been given to them but not unexpected

I wish they had more development and importance to the story but I still enjoyed them. There needed to be one more Dino though. 4 just isn't a good number for them.

That Dinobot charge sequence is my 2nd favorite action sequence of the series. That sequence is just spectacular.

Woefully underused with no characterisation at all. They were present simply as a 'powerup' item ala Jetpower Prime and presented as little more than monsters.

They really could just have been Minicons giving the Autobots a Powerlink boost.

Even though the dinobots weren't anywhere near prominent, I loved them. Too bad they didn't show up till the end. Hopefully in the next film (if there is one), their origins will be explained and more development.

I agree. It kind of reminded me of watching the "Atlantis Rising" & "Day of the Machines" episodes where the Autobots were being overpowered and had to call in the "big guns" for backup/assistance.

I would've preferred if they'd just stuck to the core five from back in the day. It would've been sweet and nostalgic to see the Big 5 on screen finally!

Unlike the Decepticons' un-named and dialog-less generic background soldiers from RotF and DotM and AoE, they at least transformed once, and they didn't die.

This all sounds very convincing but with every new advancement in technology some findings could change what we know of them Dinos over time.

They were cool eye candy for the five seconds of screen time they got. Huge wasted opportunity, like most of the movie characters.
