I am trying to understand the flying bugs from Megatron (I am assuming they are his "chromosomes"). ... any explanation why chromosomes fly? I thought there might be some biological explanation (not a bio major), or some other special TF ability. Any ideas?
I thought they were just insecticons that were carrying his chromosomes to infect the human made robot with, kind of in the same way that real insects carry infections.
maybe megatron created them using transformium? these guys are very small, no one would notice a so small quantity of transformium missing...
Megatron had Scapel/Doctor-like things living in his head repairing him in DOTM, I suppose there's no reason why they and the insecticons can't be part of Cybertronian healing/repair biotech. Megatron's mind, for whatever reason, was still working so I guess those were still functioning for the same reason.
I think Chromosomes was a poorly chosen word for that scene. They should have just ended that sentence with "he infected it", and shown the bugs. That would have been enough to get the point across I think
I like to think Megatron actually did die in DOTM, but had a countermeasure in the form of a shadow program, which would activate if the sanctity of his mind was ever violated in death. The shadow program would covertly save and copy what remained of Megatron's personality, enter the invasive system, and wait until a suitable host network presented itself, to which the copy could be uploaded to recreate Megatron. Old Megs, or what's left of him, would decode from there on what to do.
Galvatron was already telling his brothers to explode his seed. We don't need him to infect something with his essence.
I'm sure many people would want to know how he did that without his seed? OK, we should stop before we get in trouble.
Why would the seed have anthing to do with it? The seed just makes metal, it has no part in imbuning existing mechanoids with life. (or fake-life, since they all seemed to still be drones, just under Galvatron's command) It's funny how the movies can explicitly state things and people still get them wrong. The seed just makes "transformium." it doesn't create life. You're thinking of the Allspark. The seed makes metal, the Allspark makes life, and the Matrix is a huge energy source. (capable of restoring power to living, but powerless, robots)
I agree with Achilles. He may have possibly made them with transformium and added his chromosomes to them. Seems like a logical explanation in my opinion.
The movie, either by accident or cleverness by someone involved, keeps it generally vague on the exact specifics of Galvatron's body. Brains says Megatron designed it, and it shows the 'chromosomes' flying out of it's grille. So it's clear he snuck their designs in to act as little spies (as they flew around the lab observing stuff) and to transfer his conciousness. (whatever's left) And since he had always planned to take control, he could've designed something in the Galvatron form to specifically work with Vehicons to activate him. The movie never states this, obviously, but it never contradicts it, and the imagery supports it.
