    Do any of you think the aesthetic from the Alternators and/or Alternity lines as well as the Aveo Swerve figure would work in live-action (I'm not talking about throwing that in alongside the current designs, I just mean in general)

    I'd really like to see a more traditional mecha aesthetic, yes. I mean, they don't look awful in AoE, but I always thought them being more mechanical and yet emotionally human gave them a more legitimately alien quality.

    Also, here's what the OP's referring to, for those of you who only watch the movies/are just unfamiliar with this particular aspect of the franchise;

    eeeh. a lot of alts were kibbly and really blocky. i think the TF universe aesthetic might look okay, it's complex but not overly so and has standard faces.

    Not really, no. But I'd love to see them in their own thing.

    I don't know if regular faces could ever work. I mean, look at Prime. They're wierd.

    I've actually designed faces that work on a series on hinges and sliding mechanisms that have a more seamless, "classical" look. The only part that would really be left as they are now would be the lips. I just moved, but if I can find my sketches, I might scan and post them.

    Please, I will donate any organ you desire in your time of need if you do. (Okay, that'd be going a wee bit too far, but I will be your friend at the very least.)

    Unfortunately, my sketches are boxed up. But they're similar to EJ Sue's concepts, except more functional. But the jaws on mine are a definite takeoff on his.

    Just from your description, if I ever get the chance to direct a TF film in the next 20-30 years (doubt it but one can dream), I will plead on my knees to hire you.

    There is a lot of kibble, but the more traditional mecha aesthetic is attractive.

    I have the same dream.

    Looks like I'll have to Highlander you. There can only be one.

    Eh maybe. But truth be told I don't really like the Alternator figures that much.

    I am actually using Mech Ideas Shockwave head for Deluxe Jazz and had it painted purple to be the "two-headed" Shockblast.

    Not sure about the Alternators but I think Aveo Swerve works well as well as ROTF Swever

    Hmm, basically, G1 again? I'm not saying they wouldn't be cool and I'd definitely watch it, the design would most certainly work!

    But in all cases, they're not new, they're used. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. New designs for new toys please. :p
