Um dude, I don't know if you noticed, but Starscream got blown to bits in DOTM, so he is pretty much dead

    No he's dead.

These movies are now just transformers in name only. In an interview with Tf4 producer Lorenzo De Boventura, he said that they plan to dig into the transformers archives for all upcoming transformers films to find characters to bastardize. Make sure to hold out hope, because one very real possibility in the near future is to see all your personal fucking favorites in these films. Why it's such an honor for Metalhawk and sky quake to be in the film, who gives a damn. Optimus and Bumblebee will still be breathing even after the day the movie franchise is reduced to sucking up the loose change in the couch cushions to get the money this franchise so dearly feeds on. Will starscream be back? No, he's served his purpose. What fans should really be exited about is who the next handful of transformers will be that they're going to exhume from the archives to stuff to the brim with stereotypes and tired clichés, all in the name of entertaining a new generation of wallet wielders.

    He is never coming back.

Shame, I'd like to see more of Charlie Adler as Starscream. That was a great casting regardless of what you thought of the character.

I can see a return as a man made prototype, but besides that, no.

I don't think Starscreams immortality is quite as 'iconic' as people say. My memories a bit hazy but if I recall correctly....

G1 - Immortal spark, stopped by the BW conflict for a cuppa tea.

A/E/C - Killed by Unicron, revived as an 'Energon Ghost' by Alpha Q, restored to life at end of series/beginning of Cybertron

Animated - "Killed"/on life support of sorts by shard of Allspark, died again when removed.

Prime - Never seen to explicitly die.

So he's cheated death a few times but the whole immortal spark thing doesn't seem to really be as prominent as people claim.

    I don't think he's coming back, and I'm hoping he doesn't

It annoys me when franchises constantly bring characters back to life just because of fan-demand. Dead characters should stay dead, and new ones should be given their time to shine

    Damn, beat me to it

Someone clearly hasn't read the IDW comics

I hope Galvatron makes some effort to bring back his two best lieutenants, Starscream and Soundwave. They could've been remade into some KSI prototypes we didn't see, Cyclonus or Thundercracker and Soundblaster.

What's dead should stay dead. Except Optimus Prime, obviously. Now, if they could get rid of Bumblebee...

You seem pretty upset. No one's forcing you to watch the movies. And "Transformers in-name only?" There are transforming robots. From Cybertron. The fact that it's a separate continuity might imply that the characters aren't all going to be the same as they were before. I thought that much was obvious?

But whatever floats your boat. If writing off hyperbole like that makes you feel better, go right ahead.

    Great minds think alike.
Agree with you , Prime shouldn't have come back in G1 and even ROTF.
Megatron is an exception as he re-incarnated.

Yeah I knew. I was being sarcastic, Transformers isn't one for explaining or giving Decepticons much love.

Here's an idea, let's give death some freakin' meaning again. You know, when something's dead...it's dead. It's not some kind of mega-nap. It's not like switching off your computer. When you're dead, there's no turning back. Game over.

Death should be shocking. For good guys, it should be tragic. It should be a game changer in the story, not an inconvenience. When a character dies, the audience shouldn't have to think "oh they can just bring them back to life." It's time to give back the respect the concept of death deserves.

So yeah, new characters, please. Stop trying to cling onto old stuff.

I think he will stay dead just because the production team just couldn't figure out what to do with the character in the first place.

The first movie he makes a big splashy entrance at the dam, he takes out the human jets with ease, and Ironhide acts like Starscream being in the fight is bad news for the good guys. The comic books make it look like it's going to be really cool with Starscream as the leader of the Decepticons. But then Starscream doesn't really do anything in the second film but provide advise to Megatron about sometimes it's best to retreat. Third film all he does is swat down a hovering unarmed Osprey and gets killed by Sam because Sam needed more robot kills under his belt.

If he's not going to do anything then just stay dead until Paramount runs these films into the ground to the point where a reboot that throws out everything from the Bay films is the only option. Maybe the next crew will have seen the cartoons that made Starscream a top character.

He was the one who supposedly killed all the autobots in DotM. Not a bad little feat.

But that didn't actually last at all. essentially it's a moot victory.

He doesn't have to any rank of command, they all die just the same in the end. Drift was a triple changer and it looked alright on screen, now a jet and tank combination would be sweet.

Don't compare the cartoons with the movies, 2D is always cheaper.
