This is the only reason why i get frustrated over DOTM, why did the writers decide to make Sam kill Starscream, shouldn't it have been Megatron or Ratchet ( Revenge could work for both of them). Plus, in AOE they used the perfect way to bring Starscream back, but let Megatron use it. Surely Starscream should have manipulated KSI as he is the one who always returns, its almost if not more common than Megatron returning as Galvatron.

Fans complained about Sam being useless.

 

Why Ratchet? None of the movie-verse showed them as having any kind of rivalry, plus Starscream didn't kill anyone in the movies, so Ratchet wouldn't have any reason to kill Starscream to avenge anyone.

 

Well, he did blow off Bumblebee's legs in TF1 as well as injuring Ratchet in TF1, I know maybe Ironhide should have done it, but he was already dead...

 

i dont care who killed him, anybody would be fine for me to kill him, i would've let him live however if i was in Bays shoes, ONLY if i knew there was going to be another film.

still not enough to varrant a rivarly, i am sure Ratchet was injured alot of times before he came to earth and others had some injuries he had to fix

 

Well, Starscream spit at Sam in ROTF. That'll make a person real angry you know.







...but anyway, seriously : in TF1, Starscream was written as a competent fighter - as the Reign of Starscream book underlines this as well.
He was somewhat re-written as a not-so-competent G1 rip off in ROTF and DOTM due to silly fanbase complaints ( "Oh boohoo he's not G1 enough" )


Either way, just like with AOE's trailer : when Bay shows you a brief shot of the human protagonist in one frame with the Cybertronian badguy ; you can be pretty damn sure, the human is going to be the only one surviving that scene.
If it wasn't for Q's magical super duper powered mini bomb, they would have scripted some other plot device to provide the human character with "plot armour & survival power".

And so we saw that scenario in the DOTM trailers and we saw it happening again in the AOE trailers, and I knew that Lockdown would die in that scene, as the brief shot snippet showed Cade vs Lockdown in frame.

 

Starscream and Sam were sort of rivals through the first 3 movies. He seemed to have some deep hatred for Sam due to the many encounters they had. Starscream sounded pissed when he was going after him. Ultimately, I didn't really have a problem with Sam killing him.

 

Should of had Sideswipe kill him, Or Dino, would of been good if Sam killed Barricade instead as a big FU to how he was in the first film

Anyway they were going to kill of every Decepticon in DOTM to put an end to the trilogy.

Personally it'd have been nice to see Sentinel dispatch Starscream, not trusting him or something.

 

I thought the scene was awesome. I was so excited the first time I saw a trailer with Sam jumping out the window towards Starscream.

 

Because there is a rivalry between the two srota...

I mean, in TF1 he nearly landed on him and caused the back rotor of a Helicopter to almost shred him.
In ROTF, He could have potentially sliced and diced Sam, Leo and Mikaela in that Corsa. He even SPAT AT HIM! Then In the forest battle, "COME HERE BOY", and then the endless running after him.

"What a treat! You and me alone!"

"He's after me not you."

Then nearly dices Carly and Sam.

Que gave him a boom stick, why not use it! Wouldn't you!!

So Que killed him.

 

I say Ratchet. Reason? Have him do something useful, like killing a high-ranking Decepticon, before he kicked the bucket in AOE.

 

Out of the options Ratchet.

 

I can slightly agree that they were enemies, but I would of liked it if Sam had at least called him by name. He must have known who is was as he's told in TF1.

 

He kinda was in ROTF leaving him in TF1. One can clearly see that Megatron was not happy. Then when they are on the building after the forest fight. That was one of my favorite scenes.

 

I would've been happy if anyone had said his name once in DotM. Seriously wtf?
