It is stated "transformium" is programmable Matter, meaning it is a metal which gets electronic signals from KSI headquarters and reacts to it. The KSI bots are just a big chemical reaction caused by the remote control of Joshua Joyce (or Harold Attinger) meaning it needs no source of power, only extremely controlled variables.

But after Galvatron hacked them, how would they receive electronic signals since they were not remote controlled anymore? Do Galvatron send those signals?

Also, just thinking, what's Galvatron power source? I know his mind is alive and stuff, but is just his mind enough and capable to power his body? Or he has the same power source of the KSI bots?

Too many questions, but no answer.

Maybe the G1 energon topic will be revived ? We almost had an answer with the sun harvester in the 2nd movie.

    Apparently it has been acknowledged:

Admittedly it's just in some background imagery and it doesn't actually say what it is, only that it's 'super charged', but there's a direct comparison to Energon.

(Thanks to OptimusJet for the screen cap, BTW)
