Hope this hasn't been done before but whatever. We've had 4 films by now obviously, so it leads me to ask which film had the most chilling and breath taking trailer to you. When I say that I mean literally made you feel some type of way. For me it was the Dotm trailer. When Shockwave cocked that giant gun of his and the driller dropping that building, it really made me think that the cons were gonna be the shit!. Well they were kinda but they still sucked ass so hard in the end. Describe your how you felt from your favorite trailer.
The very first trailer (Mars rover) got me most excited. The possibilities of what could be was the most exciting. Seeing the shadow was awesome.
Hmm. The ROTF Superbowl spot got me really pumped. As did the theatrical trailer for DOTM, and AOE. Out of those, I'm going with the DOTM trailer.
http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xjs1y6m9ETk My favorite was AOE's payoff trailer. At the time we had all been starving for new footage and this trailer did more than deliever. I went crazy when you first see Locdown transform and everything from 1:37 to the end is pure awesome, especially Prime and Grimlock kicking vehicon ass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieFiapp-9_U I also really like the 3rd RotF trailer. It's better put together than the 2nd trailer for the film which I think is the worst TF theatrical trailer. It's just a fun trailer especially once Megatron shows up. I also love the little bit with Prime and Galloway at the end.
Let's see TF1 teaser loved it still gives me chills, Rotf, Dotm, and Aoe superbowl, Aoe payoff trailer i was getting irritated about no new footage, Rotf teaser trailer it gave me goosebumps and Dotm trailer 2.
When you're talking trailers, for me, it's still DOTM. It just gave that feel of urgency and helplessness of what seemed like a very apocalyptic tone for the movie. From Bee dropping his hands over his head in sorrow to Epps saying "it's over. I'm sorry, but it's over" REALLY highlighted on that. Then we get the shot of the Driller ripping the building apart and I even remember someone mentioning those shots reminding him of scenes in the movie "2012". AOE is a VERY close second though. VERY close. The superbowl spot for this movie caused this website to break for over 3,000 people flooded the movie forum
It's why DOTM is the best out of the "first trilogy" (if the 4th movie starts a new one) IMO. I've always liked disaster movies. And I still remember watching videos on youtube of the chicago filming before the superbowl spot aired. I never expected that, in the first shot of the superbowl ad, I would see Chicago in absolute ruins and surrounded by space ships. My jaw literally dropped for the rest of the spot. And what made it especially magical for me was in the spot, I recognized scenes that I had seen being filmed, being brought to life by the CG. Goooood times
The AOE trailers were 2nd for me. Lockdown emerging from the smoke was so badass -- followed by his face-cannon incapacitating Optimus..awesome stuff. The moment we first saw Lockdown in the Superbowl teaser pretty much solidified him as one of the most formidable and anticipated villains yet. But DOTM theatrical trailer with the music, Shockwave cocking his canon, and Sam yelling "Optimus" and seeing him just fly in and destroy everything still gives me chills. DOTM is Number 1 for me, AOE close 2nd
For me, it will always be the TF1 Theatrical trailer. The music, editing and scenes showed beyond sold the film, and still gives me chills to this day. The "mars rover" announcement trailer was also good, simply because of how much it left up to the imagination. At that point, the Transformers movie could be anything, and it all looked cool. The DOTM theatrical trailer is also phenomenal, definitely second place. The music was probably best of all the trailers, and it also really sold the apocalyptic feel the movie would have. The only reason it isn't my favorite is because at this point, we knew what Transformers movies looked like. With the TF1 theatrical trailer, nothing like it had really been done before and it looked amazing.
