When Prime found out that Ratchet got slaughtered by Lockdown and Attinger, he went ballistic. But he didn't go ballistic after he found out about Ironhide's, Leadfoot's, I understand that Jazz died before Prime's arrival. But didn't go nuts after the rest of the Autobots. Why is that?

Because Krueger realised how stupid it was for Prime to not react to Ironhide's death, and changed that in an extreme way.

He was more upset that it was Sentinel, his mentor and old friend, than Ironhide's death.

Leadfoot's a Wrecker, those guys are expendable. But Prime did take a vow to finish off whoever was behind it.

Ratchet's melting down was the last straw.

Prime did avenge Ironhide by killing Sentinel but would've been cooler if he said this is for Ironhide and the humans you have killed.

Does he really need to say it explicitly? When he went haring off after Sentinel the shock of his betrayal was palpable, in his voice, his actions, everything. It really didn't need spelling out.

Maybe becuase he has helped the humans so much and now they have killed Ratchet. He did have "somewhat" of a reaction to the other Autobots death, but it wasn't that of an over-reaction becuase he was killed by Decepticons.

This is what I was getting at, when he transformed in the NEST base, he did it slowly, kept his head down and was quiet. People expect words. Actions speak louder than words?

It was due to Ratchet being his closest friend and as he was a medic, he was no threat to humans, plus he saw what KSI did to his fallen comrades.

Ratchet was the medic. The others that died would've been prepared to die for the anyway. Once again though, Ratchet was the medic. He'd rather save lives instead of takin em. Although it probably was because of the way he died that pissed him off so badly. Imagine seeing one of your dead friends being used as a dead science experiment.

This. Simply put, imagine one of your most gentle friends who's only there to help patch you up and gets involved in battle when need too, having been slaughtered and melted down. I don't know about anyone else, but I would "tear them apart" as well.

I did wonder why Prime did not show much emotion on Ironhide's death in DOTM but then I thought about it, the fact of not only his friend being killed but by the hand's of one he used to think of as a mentor, might have just been too shocking a moment for him to process. This does happen when someone encounters a moment so earth shattering the mind just kind of shuts down for a time. Of course, that's not to say he might have shown some kind of emotion "off camera" after he had time to process what happened.

Of course, between that and then the humans betrayal of the Autobots since Chicago and his almost termination at the hands of Lockdown, the sight of Ratchet's fate might have been just the moment that broke the camel's back and Prime just "snapped".

A thousand times this. I don't know why so many of us need everything spelled out so explicitly. Why do you need your hand held during the movie? Not you in specific, just everybody that feels the need for explanations

I could definitely see where Prime's rage came from. It's no different than if a family member was overseas, and they were decapitated and butchered: one would definitely be upset at a person being just treated like "a thing."

I'm still shocked that Ironhide has not been mentioned since.

It's like no one wants to his acknowledge his existence anymore.

Well, they didn't mention Jazz, the Twins, Roadbuster and Topspin, and Wheelie.

I think he went nuts because the humans were melting down the transformers for raw resources.

I'm guessing he didn't go nuts when Jazz was killed off because it was part of the war of Autobot vs Decepticon, and there are going to be come causalities.

He went nuts on the humans because the Autobots were not at war with them, and were only using them as scientific experiments and melting them to get at the Transformium.

In his mind, this is far worse than having his comrades die in a war.
