I'm surprised that these two have never operated side-by-side in much fiction if any. Hypothetically speaking, if they were deployed into a special operation together, how would they interact?

I'm also curious about this because it seems like Jazz is an older mentor type to Optimus and usually in a second in command position but Ironhide is also shown to be a long time friend of Prime's and seems much older than the majority of characters.

 

I am sure they will get along well

 

I don't know why, but this thread just made me realize that I actually DON'T like how Ironhide was portrayed in Animated.

 

I think it would be awesome! Younger, spunkier bot with a grumpier older one? What's not to love? I have waaaay too many plot bunnies in my head about those two thanks to me and a friend of mine. Lots of shenanigans!

 

I'd get a good cop/bad cop vibe from that, Jazz being the good cop

 

Yes! And Prowl can be the angry chief! And Barricade is the crooked cop!

 

Ironhide: older southern guy. Jazz: a bit younger, likes loud music. I think Ironhide would be Mr. Crankypants.

 

A good cop/bad cop dynamic sounds about right. Screw Prowl/Jazz, those two would be perfect for each other.

 

Ironhide and Jazz don't come off as toy characters with a major dynamic.

If anything it's Prowl and Jazz, and I've always imagined them with a Men in Black's Agent J and K dynamic.

 

Given Jazz's cool demeanor and Ironhide's tough guy attitude, I would like to see these two together just the two of them

 

But why shouldn't they have a dynamic? What would the problem be with that?
