Overusing quotes form the '86 movie? That's bad comedy.

The constent use of Optimus Prime vs. Megatron with Bumblebee, Starscream, and Soundwave included inside, that Hasbro always uses.

Give me someone new! Hell I'd be cool with Cheetor vs. Skywarp for crying outloud!

This for me. At first it was cute, now it's tiresome. They need to come up with something original already.

    Yeah.

Besides they never someone reuse any of the cooler lines like "I've got better things to do tonight than die".

Don't forget Grimlock, who is arguably the more common fifth in that overused set than Soundwave. Honestly, any other character would be a breath of fresh air.

How is this different than any other franchise? Every story has its core characters that are the most recognizable and sell the most merchandise.

If you're talking X-Men its Wolverine, Storm, Jean Grey, Deadpool (I loathe Deadpool and his fandom) Magneto, Beast and Nightcrawler. Spider-Man? Its Mary Jane, Green Goblin, Venom, and Carnage. Star Wars? Darth Vader, Yoda, and Boba Fett.

It might be frustrating that there isn't more representation of characters likes Astrotrain, or the other combiners like Piranacon, but clearly the creative people are restricted by what sells, or their own limited imagination.

This concept intrigues me, but requires a few caveats to work. If the war started at the height of the Cybertronian Empire, it is unlikely that it would have started on the homeworld, but probably out in some far flung outpost/colony. Now depending on how large the Empire was, you have a conflict that has to work it's way across the vastness of space to eventually close in on Cybertron so Megatron can start screaming "Death to the Aristobots" and begin gunning down the filth.

There may also have been extended periods of ceasefire or even tenuous peace that eventually flared back up again because someone, somewhere just couldn't let sleeping dogs lay. Perhaps even the Decepticons won a few times but were then deposed by the Autobots (and vice versa). It would be better to shorten the time frame to an even 1 or 2 million years though.

My bug bears with the franchise is hasn't used it's resurgence in popularity to embrace the space opera setting in it's cartoons (thank God for Roberts) and we still haven't seen the Great War.

Seriously, I think it's time to reverse the usual dynamic of Transformers television with the Autobots and Decepticons on Earth. I think the next series should involve the crew of Earth's first FTL spacecraft accidentally warping them to Cybertron.

I have to agree with this and complain about all the repaints with very little retool in combiner wars line.

...what's with the hate for Dark Spark? It was just a movie tie-in that crossed over with a less than stellar game series.

And as far as movie tie ins go, it could be a lot worse.

I do believe you're serious. I loved WFC and really liked FOC. If they would go back in and edit out any of the forced TFP garbage I'd love it.

I've found that something I'm starting to hate about the franchise is when one off things happen and they get expected as the norm by the fandom. Looking back over the years, we'd never gotten a remold on the level of Springer/Sandstorm, and even the Jazz/Sideswipe remold was more than we normally get. We also didn't get anything that extensive since, and you definitely hear about it in damn near any thread that comes about. CW is starting to hit that stride with some major remoldings, but all it took was CW Scattershot to throw the fandom into a tizzy. Any more, I'd rather them not do any more extensive remolds, let the fandom dwell on what it USED to be like instead of thinking something impractical will be the status quo.

Lack of UK support by UK ToyRus for collectors, do understand we are in the minority so could just sell the hasbro Masterpiece figures online that would be a start.

Films 3 and 4 for me where appalling especially 4 wont get that time in my life back again.

Off topic but thing I love most is the community met some really nice people on the forums always willing to give advice and help out.

I think the bit where it's still a shit plot that makes zero sense might have something to do with it.

To be fair, CW Scattorshot probably could have escaped most of the backlash by just being written off as a lazy retool... if that alt. mode hadn't somehow been designed with the dumbest looking wings ever. They're barely even wings, for that matter, since you can clearly see the undercarriage brick under them anyway.

Like, this is CW Scattorshot's "alt mode"

There's literally no reason for those wings to be so hollow, even the original Scattorshot had fuller wings than that
    [IMG]

Really, if they'd just stuck the wingtip pole thingies on the ends of Silverbolt's wings instead of what they actually did, it would look significantly better.

TBF, you're literally the only person I've seen criticize the wings thus far. All other backlash has been towards the lack of Combiner retooling and the mere fact that it is a retool, so I don't really think better wings would've changed anything.

Also, if those wings were filled in.... they wouldn't be hiding anything. The visible chunk is in front of the wings, not visible under the hole.
