But doesn't it make some sense for everyone on a particular 'side' to have the exact same faction badge for the sake of a cohesive representation? Even the lowliest Decepticon has the same design and colour badge as the mighty Megatron. It makes a soldier feel like they're an important part of the whole if everyone wears the same badge. It's kinda why I'm not that fond of units within the factions suddenly all having their own separate logos these days. It dilutes the unity of everyone fighting under the same 'flag'.

That said, I could perhaps get behind the idea of different divisions within the Decepticons having their own particular colour of the faction logo. For Decepticon command personnel it would obviously be the purple, for special ops a black logo (maybe even a rub sign one), light blue for medical bots, green for construction bots, yellow for scientists, grey for grunts and so on.

And then for Decepticons that mix roles, like, say, Shockwave, who's Command and also a scientist, he could have a purple logo with a yellow border.

The same rules could also be applied to Autobot logos and departments.

I just want a decent reason for changes in faction logo colour other than just because everyone having the exact same could be considered boring.

I have been thinking about that, too.
As for another way of highlighting a group or a leader, it is possible to add some additional details: it is shown in my signature.
But there is a question about it, since the Insignia of TFP's DreadWing was a paint, and the Insignia of some other Decepticons was...Like a door to their inside body.

These guys make me wonder. The Autobots' ones are also playing shiny in the FOC Game.

Just the links, if someone doesn't see the pictures.

As for standing out: I find it "entertaining" and useful, if a hostile cannot distinguish the men of "my" group and ascertain the "unit" needed. If that is possible.

I'm not understanding the point of this thread.

The answer is of course Purple - the colour the symbol has nearly always been portrayed for 30 years. Outside of a few art errors (or limitations in the case of Marvel) it's never really anything else except in the movie lines where they were going for less garish and more realistic colour schemes.

Depthwave, what is up with the light grey text? It's extremely hard to read on a site with a grey background.

I would think the results of your poll and all the others who have posted the same thing I did will surely clue you in at your worthless thread you have created here. If not oh well.

We don't need a true color. It can be any color even red like the Shattered Glass Decepticon symbol

This is seriously one of the most pointless threads I've ever been to.

And I've visited the movie forum during news droughts and the Prime forum post-Predacons Rising, so I don't say that lightly.

Fretburn, so you agree that Purple fits the most. The question: what is this colour to you, then, what does it mean in your vision? What does it embody to be the best colour to fit the Decepticons, in your opinion?
That is called "Silver" colour test, I use it to reduce the additional details, excessive information you might want to skip. In other cases I use it to write some not comfirmed points.
For instance, I shaded the "Like the colours of the flag of your nation." here, because I haven't seen any information that the TF creators choose their colour schemes according to any means.
The Blue colour is used to emphasize a point of outlook over some random discussions.

I chose the Grey, Violet and Black for my signature and avatar. Because every of this colours means something to me. I attribute them to something or someone. That is not a big difference from the Forums, too.

The point of this thread is to tell anything you have ever wanted to say about colours withing the TF Universe. Your pionts, disagreements and such.
Like Priest of Salem, Shortwave, Gingerchris ans some other users did.
As well as you could tell us, if you see the bagde as a beacon of the Decepticon's cause or just some futile element- that's the question for standing out.

MechanovaKing, I have, lots of them. It is hard to represent all possible options in thirteen cells.

Wheeljack_Prime, I see. It is even possible that we have seen the same pointless threads.

tikgnat, do you want to see a message, rich of black lines? I believe, my way looks easier to read.
There are some other options, like a button you press to see the hidden text, but our Forums' Tag is not very good to use often.
http://s6.postimg.org/5fmpacms1/d83e2a8ebac8.jpg - As for Spoiler Tags, I did this picture, when we had some problems in the Prime subforum. But it was deleted with the thread, where it was placed.

Thus, the Purple has become the colour of violence and conviction? I feel the same way, the same way.

For everyone knocking this thread,I'd like to point out that every Transformer for the first few years of G1 had a rubsign that was green.

No that started the second year of G1 and it was a marketing tool to combat counterfeiting. And the colors on the rubs varied depending on what pressure was used and the temprature of the environment. It basically is a Mood Ring sticker.

I buy and wear as much purple as I can---but ONLY "Decepticon-ish" purples. That means blue-ish purples. Anything from Skywarp lavender to Menasor footpads in shade. But it's gotta be a "G1 Decepticon purple". And that's why I wear it.

Decepticons=purple. (and not just any 'ol purple, either)

I was indifferent to Violet and Purple colours, untill I started to attribute the colour to my Fraction.
But if I get my Decepticon tattoo this year, I am 82 per cent sure that it will be purely black and 16 per cent sure that ir will have a few Purple details.
