A suggestion over the NASCAR: Rally vehicles. A core unit that's a big Rally Rig who is the medic, a roll bar/bull bar'd up truck that's the bruiser/left leg, a mudplugger of some sort for the right leg who is the hazardous terrain specialist, a compact rally car with floodlights who is the team's scout/right arm, and a bulkier rally car for the left arm/team leader

Name ideas:
Floodlight (Right arm)
Crossbeam (Left Leg)
Mudskin (Right Leg)
Ballistica (Torso)
Sandblast (Left Arm)

 

yeah his work partialy inspired this. but his uses the G1 preexisting Femmes.

 

I actually really like this idea... the only problem I see is finding a way to make the combined mode feminine as well... I suppose if you're going for a G1 design it would be really easy considering the chest plate is a separate piece anyway but anything past G1 and your leader would end up with four boobs... (Why do robots even have boobs?) Or you could just design it so the leader's boobs double as the combined mode's boobs... (Why do I have to make this the most awkward conversation ever? This is probably why Hasbro has never done it before.)

So anyway... as for the theme besides just being female combiners... well actually I never really liked the fact that all the combiner teams had to have themes. With every member sharing the same colors and vehicle modes... well not exactly the same there's enough of a difference to tell them apart when you get a good look at them, but otherwise it can be difficult telling them apart. Which one is Silverbolt? He's the jet. They're all jets!

It's actually for this reason that I think the Combaticons are one of the best combiner teams because even though they have a theme they all have entirely different vehicle modes. So if you must pick a theme other than just being female, I hope the theme is something where they can all still have unique vehicle modes. I don't want to see a Nascar theme as someone else suggested because then they're all going to be cars.

On that note it doesn't really make a difference to me if you use entirely new characters or reimagine existing characters as combiners. However if you do use pre-existing characters I have some ideas on who the team members should be.

Autobots (Vehicle Mode/Limb Mode suggestions)

Elita-One (Truck/Torso)
Override (Race Car/Right Arm)
Arcee (Convertible/Left Arm)
Airazor (Jet/Right Leg)
Chromia (Motorcycle/Left Leg)

Decepticons (Vehicle Mode/Limb Mode suggestions)

Thunderblast (Boat/Torso)
Strika (Tank/Right Arm)
Slipstream (Jet/Left Arm)
Blackarachnia (Spider themed Monster Truck*/Right Leg)
Airachnid (Helicopter/Left Leg)

*The alt mode for Blackarachnia is so she can have an actual vehicle mode but still have it make sense with her name. Airachnid doesn't really need that since her vehicle kibble just comes out looking like spider legs on her robot mode anyway and this helps differentiate the two characters.

By the way I'm assuming they would be scramble city type combiners, the suggested configuration is just how I figure they would combined most of the time not that they actually have to combine exactly that way.

 

Hmm it dosnt need roboboobs to be femminin most of my femme designes (likk in my sig) are pretty flat chested. and these guys are all fan made.

As humans, we associate boobies with the female half of the coin. And thus, as humans, when constructing humanoid alien species, we tend to grant boobies to the female half of their coins (assuming said alien species is just male-female like us), simply because that's a pretty distinct visual that signifies: "Hey, this is a girl of the species."

And also because some peeps get turned on by boobies so they must have boobies everywhere they go, alien robots or not.

Even though I'm against having them all be the same thing... those vehicles are oddly distinctive enough that it works for me. That seems like a good Autobot team.

The theme I went for was 'Rally'. So while they're all rally vehicles, the grouping is done so that they don't compete with looks.

Plus, I just wanted to see a Motorstorm vehicle combiner

Can't recommend anything car-related.

However, a group of stunt planes could work well.

Not things like the Blue Angels, but GeeBees and such. Because Sky Dancers would be a good counterpart to Rally Belles

 

lets see what everyone else has to say first.

 

What about an Aquatic theme? There are hardly any aquatic transformers in the entire universe and we already have the Seacons but they're beastformers. There's no team of aquatic vehicles that can combine.

Tida and Seastream Seastream ironically being the only team member who isn't an aquatic vehicle but having a flight carrier with no jets just seems wrong.

Knight Watch If you can't tell by her vehicle mode she's the teams medic and typically hangs out Aquablast.

And finally... Subticon

Feel free to change any of these names by the way I literally just wrote down the first thing that came to mind. Also there would have to be some mass shifting for this to work since obviously the Jet is going to be a lot smaller than the flight carrier and the life boat would actually be smaller than all of them. Plus I kinda picture the submarine as the leader since it stands out on it's own and the paired bots as the arms and legs. Don't know if you want them to mass shift but this theme kind of requires it.
