A new show would be cool too.
It's what Hasbro will have to do if they ever do a BW heavy toyline.

I'd be fine - even excited - with it, provided they retained the character design elements that are born of the limitations of the time. They can spruce them up, add some elements, improve things, etc. but I want some of the wonkiness that came out of the technology of the era to still be present in all of the character designs. And I absolutely do not, under any circumstances, want significant changes in stylization.

Since this is unlikely to ever happen though, I would however like a true HD remaster on Blu Ray.

An enhanced edition of Beast Wars doesn't need to be redone from scratch. If the BW character models are good enough to be used for collectible ceramic statues, they're good enough for a modern 3D cartoon. What needs to be improved are the environments, textures, lighting, and effects.

Id say it depends on whose back its going to ride:

If its between a new one and that, Id say roll for a new one (with whatever horrors that might entail in the final product). If there is no internal competition with something new, yeah why not? God Knows both BW and BM (especially the later) could use some updates.

    BW is fine.

What they need to do is make an all-new BW show.

Thanks, just have a few more details to wrap up and then I can model the Predacon ship. Can't wait to start animating the space battle!

    Whoa... that's fantastic!

If it's that good at this stage I can't imagine how good it'll look finished!

I went back and rewatched some Beast Wars recently and it's HORRIBLE (CGI wise.) It's probably the show that's aged the worst. For some reason Beast Machines even looks miles above it, probably because Beast Machines wasn't trying to render organic environments. Beast Wars has all the charm of a Windows ME screensaver. Don't get me wrong, I love it. But good luck getting a kid now to sit through that. I mean, maybe if you don't game then you don't realize how dated it looks (like Optibotimus and his new intro - err... pretend I didn't say that.) But yeah, it's bad. I'm for anything to help modernize Beast Wars' look. I don't know if there's anything left besides the episodes themselves. But even if they just have the ability to update the textures then they should do it.

I play video games and I've been shocked at how bad games have aged over the years to the point where they hurt my eyes, but I view Beast Wars as a cartoon, not a video game, and the show still looks the same as it did 20 years ago. I recognize that the CGI isn't top notch. 98% of the time there are no shadows, and the textures look like beginner photoshop. There are also several animation errors, but what cartoon, CG or otherwise doesn't have errors? Hasbro still can't get Frenzy and Rumble correct based on an animation error.

Beast Wars is my all time favorite cartoon, but I don't think I'm biased. The cartoons of today look atrocious and it's on purpose. For being one of the very first CGI cartoons, Beast Wars has incredibly fluid animation. It's not always on point, but again, what cartoon is? G1 certainly wasn't.

I consider Jurassic Park one of the greatest movies of all time, but it has errors and mistakes out the ass.

They at least still had the original character model files when they were making statues of them a few years back. If they held onto them that long, I'm not sure why they'd have deleted them since then.

Character models are one thing, but you need the scenery, the animation paths, etc.

That's true. But if they archived the character models, that makes it a lot more likely that the rest of the assets might still be around too. We don't know for sure, but it's a good sign, at least.

Likelihood of this happening aside, I would absolutely love Beast Wars reanimated with modern CGI. Perhaps as a bonus, they could pull in the voice actors and finally complete "Dark Glass" to really fix the plot hole created by Dinobot II's sudden reversion to the original Dinobot's programming. Unlike G1, the voice actors for this show are all still around.
