I've long held a dream of how my own ideal 30th anniversary countdown for Transformers should look. It's taken a lot of doing but I am very pleased to be able to share this with you.

Over the next 30 days please join me as we take a trip back through the history of the Transformers.

Let the 30 in 30 begin!

That is a lovely write up.

I still remember grabbing issue one from the comic rack at Perry Drugs.

I didn't realize Gobots only had a 4 month lead. I must have really been into them, because I rememeber the very 1st time I even seen a TF on the peg. My 1st TF was Gears.

Nice trip down memory lane, nice write up.

Im getting old but im still a kid!

    Thanks TFW!!

That was a great bit of writing, thanks.
Brings back memories of running home from primary school to watch Transformers on TV.
We didn't have a lot of money so my twin brother and I only had little Bumblebee and Huffer. Oh the memories :)

1984 was a blur. I remember seeing Go-Bots commercials and being uninterested. I remember my parents calling for me frantically from the living room one day and arriving just in time to see the last seconds of my first Transformers commercial. I think my parents' association helped sell me on Transformers as much as the commercial. They were cool like that. Either way, I must have looked like a zombie after that because I can't remember anything but being fascinated. I remember waiting for months, painfully, for when the promised toys and television show would appear. When I found issue #1 of the comic book on the spinner rack at the local grocery store, I whined my mom into buying it, too. I was enthralled by that comic. (That story was, to me, always far superior to the TV show, and completely mind-expanding to that eleven-year-old.) It was the first comic book I ever cared to read. I couldn't wait for more, and that single comic book really helped me deal with the growing anticipation for the awesomeness to come. I even carried it around with me folded up in my back pocket. But in the meantime I settled for some Go-Bots. It was all worth the wait. Has been ever since.

I have never found an exact date, don't know if "street dates" even existed back then. I know it had to be sometime around May of '84, my friend got Windcharger and that was before the end of the school year, which was end of May/early June. He actually thought it was a Go-Bot until I saw the card (I had dumb friends :D ), we had been seeing the commercials for TF's but hadn't seen them in the stores. We moved to a different state that summer, and I had Huffer and Jazz sometime during that summer before school started in September.
