The wing thing pretty much exists in every work where characters with natural wings occur.

Theme 1: When Ratchet reaches the breaking point of his anger or annoyance, he throws wrenches at people.
Nope, but I wouldn't put it past him.

Theme 2: Seekers maintain units of three called a "Trine". Their fellow Seekers are called "Trinemates." Amongst them may be a "Trineleader."
Nope, but there's an intuitive logic there.

Theme 3: Sunstreaker and Sidewipe like to play pranks on Autobots.
Nope. Sunstreaker and Sideswipe don't even especially like each other. Sideswipe is known for dirty fighting and breaking the rules, so I could see him also playing jokes, but I think Sunstreaker would consider it to be too uncouth for him.

Theme 4: Rumble and Frenzy like to play pranks on Decepticons.
This is NOT mentioned in their G1 bios. Not even a little bit.
They are however, both loudmouthed little jerks.

Theme 5: Skywarp will play pranks on just about anybody except Megatron.
This does come directly from his G1 bio. Skywarp is a thug, a bully, and a cruel prankster. So basically that red-headed kid in your fifth grade classroom who kept getting sent to the hall.

Theme 6: Ravage purrs when petted.
See below for my comments on this one...

Theme 7: When faced with something completely illogical but somehow true, Prowl's logic circuit's will glitch and possibly fry.
This is directly from his G1 bio. As Split Lip points out, it's also a pretty standard cliche for intensely logical characters. Shockwave has a similar aversion to emotional or illogical thinking.

This is pretty much Captain Kirk's favourite tactic to use against supercomputers. I think he's done it like 3 or 4 times.

Theme 8: Seekers wings are among the most sensitive parts of their frame.
Nope. I think this one probably comes straight out of naughty fanfics.

However, it is a running theme in the G1 bios for helicopter Transformers to have especially fragile rotor blades... Whirl, Vortex, Sandstorm, etc...

Also it's noted that Swoop's wings are quite vulnerable too.

I don't remember him actually purring. But it's safe to assume that this is mostly limited to his Cartoon persona, not his more sentient portrayal in other media.

And flying karate kicks. Don't forget those. :)

Technically, Ravage is neither of these things. He is a Cybertronian of Decepticon persuasion. His physical form is not necessarily a determination of his status, as his G1 bio and Specs confirm. If one wishes to cite the G1 Cartoon sub-canon, it's worth mentioning his appearance in Beast Wars, where his true personality is asserted more explicitly.

Ravage isn't actually a panther, though.

He's a robot who looks kind of like one, but isn't. He's a generic big cat that's all black.

And like I said, he makes some kind of affectionate growling sound that's equivalent enough to a purr for me. But not all cats purr.

For 6, in addition to the cartoon scene, there's this

He's making some kind of noise there, I don't know what though.

That is the katakana for "ru," it says ruru.

    Sounds like purring to me.

That looks like it's from one of the Japanese Henkei comics... the head design matches that version of Ravage.

Well, I suppose he has always been formally identified as a jaguar, all the way back to his Micro-change days... which would mean that he's a "panther" (since 'black panthers' are just leopards or jaguars with melanin mutations).

Except that he's actually an alien robot saboteur, so that doesn't really mean much. :)

My take, based on my experience in the slash-loving part of the fandom, complete with some detail and insight.

Theme 1: When Ratchet reaches the breaking point of his anger or annoyance, he throws wrenches at people. This isn't canon in the cartoon G1 continuity, but it is so deeply woven into the collective fanon that it is practically part of it now. As far as I know, it was popularized by the author and artist Starhorse.

Theme 2: Seekers maintain units of three called a "Trine". Their fellow Seekers are called "Trinemates." Amongst them may even be a "Trineleader." Again, not canon, but deeply woven into the fabric of fanon. Opinions vary on what exactly the trine is: Some view them as actual brothers, others as a simple contract relationship, but the most common seems to be a relationship based on a type of sparkbond. In any case, most view the members of the trine as having a deep and complex interpersonal relationship, and many do stray somewhat from the exact canonical characterizations.

Theme 3: Sunstreaker and Sidewipe like to play pranks on Autobots. Not canon, and more or less created by the aforementioned Starhorse. Originally, it was only Sideswipe who did pranks, other fans added Sunstreaker to them, and the idea took off. It should also be noted that most fans believe them to be actual twins, at the level of sharing two halves of a single spark, and that they share a mental and emotional link due to this.

Theme 4: Rumble and Frenzy like to play pranks on Decepticons. I've seen this one a few times, but am not sure where it came from.

Theme 5: Skywarp will play pranks on just about anybody except Megatron. Canon. It must be noteed, however, that many fans don't portray his character as dark as is suggested by his official bio. Many interpret him as a grown-up kid of sorts, young, childish, and even somewhat innocent, easily amused, easily bored, and a lovable goofball in general.

Theme 6: Ravage purrs when petted. I've encountered this a few times, but I am unsure of its canonicality.

Theme 7: When faced with something completely illogical but somehow true, Prowl's logic circuit's will glitch and possibly fry. This is canon, and is a bit of a trope with his character type, but many fans have explored a little deeper, to the level of coming up with theories and reasons why. Example: Prowl's glitches/crashes are a protection mechanism; a forced shutdown intended to prevent damage to his logic components.

Theme 8: Seekers wings are among the most sensitive parts of their frame. Yes, this originated with authors that wrote slash parings with the Seekers. A similar idea exists regarding the Praxian doorwingers, e.g., Prowl and company. There are other, darker ideas related to this as well, such as the idea that a Seeker will literally go insane if their wings are amputated, or if they are denied flight or sensations that simulate it.

The actual quote from his bio is:

"His dedication to logic and reason makes Prowl particularly vulnerable to the unexpected. Irrational and inexplicable situations can really scramble his circuits, sometimes to the point of total shutdown of his mechano-cortex center, leaving him temporarily dysfunctional."

I think the interpretation of this would be situations that are actually scientifically inexplicable, not like surprise birthdays and random coincidences. :)

Which, honestly, might scramble anybody's brain temporarily. Keep Prowl away from the LSD-energon.

I have always hated this art where Transformers look like people in cardboard boxes. This is a perfect example.

Is it really any stranger than First Aid caring about the pain of inanimate objects "like a broken street lamp" (direct quote from his bio).

Oh, just remembered, the whole "Swoop training to be a medic" thing seems to come from the idea that Swoop is the nicest of the Dinobots, which ain't sayin' much. Interestingly, in FOC Swoop actually IS the Dinobot's medic. When Snarl is wounded, he's the one to patch him up, and is also classed as a scientist.

The "Swoop is a medic" thing came from one particular fanfic where Wheeljack grappled with the fact that building the Dinobots with "simple brains like real dinosaurs" might have been a rather unfair thing to do, while most of the other Autobots basically felt they were almost animals and not proper Autobots at all. Not hating on them, but making jokes at their expense constantly, etc. In the midst of all that, Swoop had a natural affinity for / desire for training to become a medic, so Wheeljack and Ratchet trained him.

It was a REALLY good fanfic. Sadly I cannot remember the actual name of it. But I am pretty sure that was the first instance of "Swoop as a medic", and where the idea spread from.

Back when I was reading TF fanfic a few years ago I kept coming across fics showcasing Soundwave's soft side. In one he adopted a stray alley cat. In another he befriended a human girl the Decepticons had abducted. Apparently some fans saw him as a gigantic metal teddy bear.
