Flame Convoy, the new Grimlock?

ok i'm having a little debate over at tv nihon, as i said Flame Convoy kinda reminds me of G1 Grimlock, or at least is the Gf equivalent of grimlocks character.

i havnt watched any cybertron, so i can't comment regarding that. but as far as galaxy force goes, he could be. For a start hes the leader of the beast tf's, grimlock was the leader of the dinobots, who i seem to recall where the first animal type tf's in g1, if you dont count ravage i guess.

they are both also kind of anti-heroes, dont like to take orders, like fighting, and they are both proud.

also the dude that does flame convoy's voice kinda reminds me of grimock, even though he is speaking japanese.

i might have got some stuff wrong here, but anyways, discuss!

Dayumn, you're right. Never even noticed it. At least Flame Convoy's smarter then Scourge.

I can agree with that, and am 100% ok with it, too. I hafta admit, I love flame convoy's voice too, even though I don't understand it. the dinobots, if anyone, are deserving of some more homages.

Well if the homages come out like energon Grimlock and swoop I would perfer less homages. If thye cannot do it right, they shouldn't do it have assed.

i agree with that one. energon grimlock was sub-par. what we need is a straight out re-issue or some decent homages in this or the next line.

I mentioned it in the Galaxy Force Anime Discussion Thread when I first saw Flame Convoy... So yeah, he does remind me a lot of Grimlock's behavior... And voice too...

I see some similarities, but they're very broad and generalized. If you look at both characters and actually put them side by side and compare all the important details, they are actually very different characters.

Scourge/Flame Convoy being the whole evil tyrant who gets his ass handed to him by Optimus Prime so he joins up with Megatron anyways only to join the Autobots when Galvatron fucks him over.

That doesn't sound like Grimlock to me.

that kinda reminded me of the desertion of the dinobots episodes.

i'm not implying they're the same character, just that FC could be the GF equivalent.

I never saw his intentions for joining megatron as being that bad. it seemed g1-ish that he sided with the one who was strongest, in his eyes, which was the true definition of who should be the leader. also very much like dinobot from bw.
