I'm not saying we should bring back Kiss Players (Witch I wish never existed in the first place).

Gender I'm fine with. Reproduction is something I really think the property could use for a world building sense. Sex is comletely unneeded.

For me to fully accept this setting the Cybertronian race, and indeed all life on Cybertron needs some way to reproduce. The well of all sparks doesn't do it for me because too little information on it exists. Also being a sole place where new life is born on a planet isn't believeable. What if that place had been hit by a natural disaster over the billions of years the planet existed? No, a sole place for reproduction for all life on a planet is stupid.

But sexual reproduction is not needed in this franchise. I know what I would do to introduce reproduction but I won't expand on it here.

I also don't think the concept of romantic love is required either. I wouldn't mind if the Cybertronian race developed moe familiar love (ie love for siblings and parents). But the concept of sexuality isn't neded.

If there's anything Transformers needs more of, it's robot testicles.

Yeah no, Transformer bisexuality just sounds horrible.

And that's my point. The nature of life and death has always been treated very differently for cybertronians than as it exists for humans. Those deaths have very often been used to explore the concept in interesting and thought-provoking ways. What is dying to a race where near-timeless bodies can be upgraded or replaced, and where afterlives and ressurrection are known facts? What is living, for an ageless race that knows only endless war and a dead homeworld, and where propagation itself is sometimes only a fantasy? What does it say about us, when we look at these superhuman metal juggernauts being torn asunder in a conflict where, even for them, death lurks around every corner?

The more we try to shoehorn human concepts as we understand them, the more we make the Transformers more human, and diminish the impact, AND the POINT, of making them mechanical life forms in the first place.

These are two adult concepts going into shows that are directed towards kids and/or young adults.

Let me ask a question: Is it better to imply sex like Beast Wars did or do we really want them to tackle both issues and royally screw them up?

If they can do it with maturity, I would say all power to them, but if they go by it like immature teenagers with over-the-top hormones, I would so noooooo! Don't do it!

If you can't be mature about it, stop it.

Edit: Especially since we are talking about sentientt machines who have different concepts of sex and sexuality. Heck, sexuality to them could be different vehicles forms or types, and sex could be a spiritual melding and nothing more.

Spark-bonding. Male transformers have a more "pozitive" spark while the female one have a more "negative one". They take a part of both the male and female spark and then fuse them into one which is then inserted into a protoform and a new bot is created. The new bot it either a male or a female based on which of the "parents" spark was more dominant in the fusion.

That's my version and I'm sticking to it.

We'll tackle The Appendix first: The Tyrest Accord.
