How would you change Bumblebee?

In recent years we have seen Bumblebee go through a lot of major changes.
Taking away his voice, making him a sports car, far from what he first started out as back in the '80's.
With all these changes made to him seems to change our view on what makes Bumblebee...well Bumblebee.

So I'm curious what things would you change, or change back, about Bumblebee to make him a more likable character in your eyes?

I'll make him a mechanical version of Tim McGee from NCIS. Unassuming, polite, helpful, highly courageous when the situation calls for it.

I'm okay with pretty much any reimagining of Bee a series wants to do as long as he is yellow and SPEAKS.

In all seriousness I would probably turn him into a modern Mini Coupe. Sort of like a cross between his 80's image and his later sports car image.

I'd turn him into a SMART-type car
and he can still talk, VERBALLY. none of this electronic Groaning shit or Buzz-beeps, He's Bumblebee, Not R2-D2.
He'd still be just taller than the average human, and he'd be a promotion for Smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles. (Smaller Alt-mode needs less Energon, puts out less Pollution)
