It would be nice if they played with the physical dimorphism thing a bit more. More femmebots that look like Strika and some manbots that look like Arcee. Made it look like their body was just that way for no reason other than function, just to throw the audience a curve ball now and then.

Also I think we're overdue for a female Prime as a main character.

Hehe, you assume that the lack of gender will stop creepy fanfics? I don't think so. . .

If you're going to start excluding anything and everything that the fans might possibly twist to their own fancy, then there wouldn't be anything left. Meanwhile, the official stuff has worked quite well with gendered robots without taking it into creepy territory for the last 28 years.

I say let them have male and female robots. Even the Marvel comics, for their complete lack of females, still had Auntie.

Basically, I view them as machines. Asimov's androids, which were much more humanesque did not have gender except where assigned by society. It's like the need to humanize everything overrides logic and common sense. It should be like Gobots, where gender typing happends more based on mannerisms than chassis. And robit nookie is right out, worst and stupidest idea ever.

This here's the problem, why do we need to humanize everything? I thought that's the reason we have the human characters in the different series, guess I was wrong.

My Feedback

I think gender is a good thing. Without genders we wouldn't have strong femmes like black arachnia and arcee. Actually I think less people would like transformers if there was no gender.

Should they have genders? They already do. Can't put that genie back into the bottle. Or chain her back to the kitchen sink.
Should they have sex though? Personally I'm not fond. At least not sex as we would consider it. I have no problem with two TF, either of different or even the same, gender collaborating somehow to create a new Cybertronian.
I do really like the old creation method of building a body and then giving it life through one means or another. Not sure how much I'd want to go into something like a TF being actually pregnant after two TF have been busy bumping brackets though.

Indeed. Probably the first ever example of a 'fembot' (Femputer!) or at least Cybertronian entity that has a female look and name. Was Auntie ever referred to as 'she' or 'her' in that story?
Autobloke in everything but name.

We do have plenty of feminine male TFs, such as Prime Starscream and Knock Out.

Gobots gender was determined by their previous humanoid state. Before their humanoid brains were implanted in Gobotronic bodies, they had gender because they were born humanoids.
