I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right thread, so I apologize up front for that.

I wanted to give everyone a head's up that my Credit Card was compromised over the weekend. I suddenly had four charges to Walmart.com show up on my card that were not mine.

I am NOT blaming any particular group or entity from Botcon. This card was used for Funpub, TFSource, Captured Prey, 6 Robots, and IDW Publishing. This card has not been used anywhere other than the show. I am starting this thread and mentioning this STRICTLY as a heads up for people to be on the watch and to warn them to closely monitor any credit card they used at the show. So please don't start throwing around accusations without any further proof. I just want my fellow collectors to be aware.

I truly hope no one else gets hit. Here's to wishful thinking!!!

Great. There are two obvious culprits without pointing fingers.

I'll watch mine, it was only used at the FunPub store whilst in Dallas.

This credit card fiasco is getting ridiculous. I didn't use my card at any of the vendors there, but I hope anyone who did dodges this madness. Please keep us updated.

I also got hit but with my old card. Evidently if you did not cancel your old card when this first happened (during per-registration) they are hitting it again. Can anyone confirm if they canceled their old card and are now getting hit with the new one. This would give us an idea if they fixed the problem or if it continues....

P.S. Mine are all from Amazon.
Forgot to add this. I did not get burned. They tried to use my old canceled card but we need to figure out if the thieves are still using the old cards or got our new ones.

I cancelled my old card, which got hit as a result of the Funpub compromise. My new card has not been hit. It was not used at Botcon except for at the hotel bar and somewhere for lunch.

did you even read the first post? he said he used it with a ton of vendors, so that doesn't mean it's related to the club at all... at least not yet.

were those who were hit using brand new cards? with new numbers? if this is yet another security breach for the club, that will totally suck for them. hopefully we find more info out soon. I'll be keeping an eye on my accounts until then, though i mostly used cash.

Actually it does IMO. My old credit card which I only used on the club site is getting hit but like I said I canceled it. I have not used that card anywhere else. It has to be the club.

Your old card from the previous breach? If so, how does that prove anything??

This is why I brought cash. Zero issues.

I am asking if anyone who changed their card with the club is getting hit with charges. Meaning they had a breach again. That is what I am trying to prove or disprove.

yeah, if they're hitting your old card, then that means they're trying all the old numbers one last time to see if they can find any numbers that they might've missed before...

hitting an old card doesn't mean any new numbers were hit.

I understand, I am trying to point out to others who may not have realized that and are getting hit with their new card.

maybe i'm missing something then, but you're saying that if people are getting hit with fraud on new cards, then it's not FP/Botcon related?

hopefully that's the case. I also kinda wonder if there're any banks out there who used the same numbers with a new expiration date, as that would be pretty easy to figure out. it would also mean that's a crappy bank.

Yes you are missing what I am saying. I AM saying it is FP / Botcon related.....
I too hope that no one is getting fraudulent charges on their new cards through FP. With all the bad press and problems FP has had recently I sure hope this is not their website leaking out new card information. Trust is wearing thin.
