I'm sorry, but Prime is supposed to be the flagship line for the Transformers franchise right now?

Because I'm finding this show to be much more entertaining, especially now that we've got the beginning of what looks like a deeper plotline now.

I guess I'm starting to think of Prime as a mix between Armada and Dragonball Z in terms of plot (it takes FOREVER for there to be any significant plot development while they're looking for multiple power ups ala mini-cons), while RB is a less violent TF: Animated.

 

...In his Vehicular mode no less. What with Airachnid utilizing a Helicoptor airframe I imagine things would not go that smoothly.

 

Have I mentioned lately how much I'm enjoying Rescue Bots and it's basically my favorite Transformers TV show currently running?

Okay this settles it. No doubt, Heatwave is 100% my favorite Autobot out of this whole franchise and I would honestly buy a main-line style toy of him over pretty much anything they showed at Botcon.

In fact I know it's never ever happening because from now and on TF will always be Optimus and Bumblebee's playground but I would kill for having the RB cast as main characters in more fiction.

 

I know, I was out looking today for anything NEW in the Rescue Bots...the only toys are those little guys that have the human with them, and both many times are not screen accurate...or the wrong human with the bots. Passed on them, but I agree, I would snap them up and get extras for my nephew too.

 

Yeah I've seen the toys out now but it just doesn't work, they're too different from the show designs to me. It's like, G1 toy to Show level of different. Somefully now that they're making an actual Cody toy they will consider accurate bots too.

I've been like this for a while now, heh. I look forward to RB more than Prime...I actually need to catch up to Prime, haven't watched the latest eps in a while. Hoping it improves, but for now, RB has my interest way more.

Altho that'd be nice, I have a feeling there's not enough fans for RB to get it it's own board, sadly.

Agreed...I would love a Heatwave (as well as the other RBs) done in the style of what we have for Prime and such, obviously meant for an older age. And yes, Heatwave is my fav as well...I wonder if part of the reason I'm enjoying RB more than Prime is cause there's no Optimus or BB...then again, I really do just love the cast for RB.

I really liked how they used the Dolly zoom from Jaws in this episode.

 

Yeah it was not the only Jaws Reference there's another one in the ferry scene too ;

Morocco seems likely as they have been forshadowing him all over the shop the nanobots the parade float and the weather machine. I think there might even be a mention in the 1st two eps some place too and I think there's a statue of him in the town too.

I'm sure we can have fun looking for those in retrospect.

& Yes this show is tremendous fun and the dialogue is sharp and witty and even without any Decepticons it's plenty exciting too.


I find it interesting that the "Rescuebots" seem to be Rescue Bots in the same way there's "Technobots" or "Dinobot" or similar even more so as the sometimes might call those Autobots but they don't tend to do that very much it all all and they often say "Cybertronian" which they don't as much on Prime (though the Warship did say it) I don't really remembered them being called Autobots.

That is interesting as it almost implies that they pre-date the civil war and the Logo they have might be the old Council Guard logo with a twist. and not an Autobot logo - they might have been obeying Prime as he's a Prime and not because he's the leader of the Autobots.

The other idea I had was that they were dispatch in a space craft when the civil war was barely starting perhaps to address a problem on another world colonised during the age of expansion like velocitron. So they missed most of the war.

They certainly never mention Decepticons - yet Heatwave is always training for combat and seems quite capable in a fight when it comes to giant dinosaurs or killer robot sharks.

Oh and I really want these guys as Normal Deluxes sometime.

 

They have said Autobots (Cody on Patrol is the first to come to mind) a few times in the series, but normally they say Rescue Bots. I wonder tho if the Rescue Bots got that logo after coming to Earth, as they didn't have logos on their bodies when they first arrived (and the logo is a combination of the Autobot logo and a Firefighter's logo). They may be Autobots, but they're not part of the militia or anything really. They're pretty much an independent group. I still do think they came from before the war since they didn't realize what had happened to Cybertron and they somehow got waylaid in space while on another mission.

Tho they don't mention 'Cons, I'm sure they know of them from Prime explaining why they can't go back to Cybertron. Heatwave in the first ep wanted to join the war effort is seemed, and I'm not surprised he's always training to fight in hopes that he probably would someday. It is kinda funny tho, watching this ep (and the Alien Invasion one), that when they do need to fight something, their only weapons is their fists (I keep expecting to see Heatwave's axe, but it never shows so I'm wondering if they're not going to give it to him in the series).

If they ever had to fight 'Cons, they'd probably be screwed in not only not having long range weapons, but not having melee weapons too. I know they're civil servants and weapons aren't a priority for them, but right now as it stands, Heatwave is kinda the only one who can really fight something (I'd hate to be whacked up side the head with a ladder personally and I have no idea how much pressure he can put behind those water nozzles of his). The only one who doesn't seem to have any special gadgets is Chase (Blades has his hook and claw and flying, Boulder has that sonar thing and his scoop, Heatwave has the ladder and water nozzles). Pretty sure Chase is the fastest out of all of them (at least on land), but not sure what else he has.

 

Heatwave is so hilarious in this one!
