If BW Megatron Wins HOF, What Should His Name REALLY be?

Or you could make a case for "Predacon" since that's the name of his mold-mate, but...doesn't really make sense.

Didn't the Council call him "the renegade?" Maybe a pun or reference on that?

It's a fun game, but I always thought that Megatron was sort of the character's "true-name." He was born under another name, great, but his HoF-worthy deeds were under his true name.

Eh, I don't really agree with that kind of retconning stuff. It's fine for the new IDW comics and whatever, but if you start retroactively altering the original Sunbow cartoon, not to mention all the cartoons that have come since, there will be no end to it.

Megatron's name is Megatron. Beast Wars Megatron's name is also Megatron. It's not that big a deal. I've never seen any hint of the confusion between the two that this thread claims exists.

It exists because butthurt fans like us exlaim that it does, meaning that goddammit we're gonna have a 1st world crisis on our hands! Be ready people, this one's gonna get sticky.

I have two friends named Matt. I don't insist one Matt be referd to as Mattonus, or forcably rename the other Matt something totally unrelated to his actual name. I either call them by their last names, (series in Megs case) or just call them both Matt.

Clearly no one reading this has the creativity required to have the discussion the OP requested.

The creativity the OP requested is completely out of place. The thread title asks what the character's name should be, should he win, and most people's answer has been the correct, "He already has a name."

Giving him some new, fan-made name will CREATE confusion, not solve it.

Fine, I shall rename the thread to better to reflect the topic.

Kind of ironic, given the subject of the thread.

Considering Hasbro has pretty much stopped using the Predacon and Maximal factions in most media, how about "Predacon Megatron" since he isn't "Decepticon Megatron" (which is unnecessary since Decepticon is the de facto evil faction these days)

Do either of your friend Matt's portray the same role in an on-going series of events that take place in different era's and universes? Cause if they do... your point is validated. If not, then that was the most ridiculous case of apples and oranges I've read today.

Megatron is Megatron. Pure and simple. Whatever universe or era, most of them have contained a "Megatron". And that entity was what was inducted into the Hall of Fame the first year. Having more than one Megatron in the Hall of Fame is just a waste of space for a more deserving character.

Since when does a Series = a Last Name?



So we have Mr. Megatron G. Wun in the Hall of Fame and now people want Mr. Megatron B. War in too?

Anyway, back to alternate names please.
