Is the encore God Convoy worth it? Whats the chances we see a Encore Gigatron? and finally would like to see MP Fire Convoy MP RiD Magnus and MP Gigatron?

 

And how about MP Bullet Trains? I still haven't found the super rare Rapid Run.... Producing an MP version would make him easier to find, and then my trio would finally be complete!  

It's just my opinion of course, but the coolest baddies have always been the ones who can fly; MP Dark Scream, if you please! (Maybe with an interchangeable Starscream head!)

Re-watching Car Robots for the first time since @kary and his fine group of colleagues released their fansub. I really do love it. Its like our fandoms best hidden treasure!

I had to sell a lot of my collection last summer to accomodate some financial difficulties I faced, but I've been rebuilding.

My shrine may be no more, but at least I've got two sharks left!

It's a smidge slow to start but hits a good stride. The humor lands better in Japanese with the original jokes, and the Saban dub trimmed most of the anime visual gags away which really detracts from the shows identity.

It's two different experiences between languages, not just a language difference.

Car Robots is set in real life Japan not some nebulous Metropolis. Car Robots is full of cute and smart Japanese cultural references totally absent from RID01.

Car Robots wasn't butchered beyond understanding by lazy translators. Car Robots is entirely original characters ala Beast Wars while RID01 nameslaps G1 names onto characters who deserve their own identities and often barely fit the names they were given.

RID01 had most of the best action nerfed on account of 9/11 considerations, since the show premiered the SAME WEEK as the attacks and had to be hastily edited and even further butchered from that original bad translation. The credible threat of Predacon terrorist operations is almost totally lost in RID01.

Is it still funny or actually creepy in hindsight?

 

I was watching a few episodes of RiD this morning, and it really made me wish Hasbro and Takara would do something like this again, only not so light hearted in tone this time around. Integrating all 4 factions in a show would be a great way to reintroduce the Maximals and Predacons again. Thats essentially what this show did with the Autobots and Decepticons back then.

Plus I also think that of all the Transformers anime, this one is so much more enjoyable to watch than the Unicron Trilogy was.
